Hi ladies! I am in the market for another Rolex. I currently have a datejust 31 white dial, roman, jubilee band and fluted bezel. This time, I would like another datejust that is a bit less casual. I settled on the following- 28, diamond markers, oyster band and fluted bezel. My dilemma is that I am not sure if I should chose pink or dark grey for the face. I love the dark grey color and it gave me a brown and taupe vibe from it more than a grey one. I have dark hair and think it looks lovely. I am wondering if the diamonds stand out enough. I am also pretty girly and I wear mostly creams, whites, pastels, roses, camels, and browns. Is dark grey too "masculine" for my style? Now onto pink, a baby pink is my all time favorite color. I used to be opposed to this color in Rolex because I had only ever seen it in a larger version which I did not love, personally. I was able to pinpoint that I don't love the metallic pink that the color is, and would much prefer a more true, almost enamel looking pink like the pink mop. However, in this model and size it looks just lovely. All rants aside, which would you choose and why? My local boutique did not have the pink one, so here is a photo not on. The dark grey is on me alone and with my current watch.

Wow, I love your white with Romans. My choice is going to be Door No. 3, one you don't mention.

1. The grey is almost entirely illegible. Do you care about being able to read the dial?

2. The pink isn't really your fave pink. I agree with you that there should be a pink enamel, but there isn't, so:

3. You would be happiest with a pinkish MOP dial, an option not stated. It's dressy and beautiful. How about trying to find one? You could omit the diamonds if you want to keep the cost in line.

I so wish that that was an option, you have read my mind but unfortunately in a size 28 they do not offer pink mop :(

I too, like the white with Romans best. Get what you like, though! And as a poster above said, can you easily read the grey dial? If you plan to keep the watch many years, will you still be able to read it? <wink>. I had to sell a YG President with champagne dial and stick markers when in my early 50s or so- just could not read the darn thing! I do happen to have a 31 YG President with silver dial and stick markers with diamond bezel. Not as bad as the champagne dial, but because it is one of my favorite combinations, I put up with it! (now, at 62)

thank you!! love my current watch, just wanted something a bit more elegant. If I am paying more for diamonds, I definitely would like to see them! My vision eventually declining would probably annoy me, that is the purpose of a watch after all! haha! :)

I have the exact same watch but with a light gray/silver face. It's surprisingly versatile and goes with everything I own. If that's not an option, I'd go with the gray MOP - I don't think it's masculine at all and the - the diamonds give it a feminine flair.

Love the dark MOP, it’s a nice addition to your current white dial 31mm. I personally do not like the pink MOP as I find it pretty fake, I don’t know why. I could compare it with pink dial in the store. Stick to white or dark MOP.

The dark one is not mop. it is a normal color called dark grey. The pink is not mop either, it is their normal pink. The white is my current watch that I am not getting rid of

I would ask if they could bring in the pink one so you can try it on. Maybe you will fall in love with it once you try it on. If that is not at option than I would pass on both and find a watch you are 100% happy with. This is not an inexpensive purchase and you should not settle for a color that doesn’t really suit your style or a color that you don’t really enjoy.
