Hi Queens/Kings

My husband bought me the RG Tiffany Knot for Mothers Day and I absolutely love it of course. He had bought it a few months back but I asked him to take it back because I felt like it was just too much for me, I’m a pretty basic lady.

So between our 18th wedding anniversary and Mother’s Day he knew that I regretted him taking it back so he bought it again.

I have a SA I deal with in store and one that I’ve dealt with online. The online SA wrote to check in and saw that we had been in store and said that she doesn’t think that the knot is a good 24/7 piece.

That’s what I am looking for.

Honestly I’m not sure what to do? I mean I know the chain is thin. I was looking at the lock too but I just love the knot so much more. I am obviously going to be careful but I don’t want it to just sit in the box either. I was really hoping to find that signature piece that I could just keep on all the time.

Thoughts?

Can you clarify why she didn't think it's a good piece to wear all the time?
Also were you planning on sleeping/showering etc with the necklace on? Or did you want to wear it every day and remove it at night?
Most fine jewelry is not really made for that kind of wear and tear.

She said that because the chain is a fine chain she didn’t think it was a good every day piece.

Yes, I was thinking of just “setting and forgetting it” I know it’s not ideal but I am having some dexterity issues and was hoping to get a piece I could wear daily and not worry about.

I like the Lock collection as well it does have a heavier chain but the my husband really loved the sentiment behind the knot.

It’s not make or break it. I’ll just have to take it off each night.

While I do not have the knot necklace, I do have the Tiffany DBTY necklace on the same very fine chain. Had it since 2021.
Yes it's just a small single diamond and it won't get in the way of potentially catching on things like hair, knit clothes, etc.
However, I can speak on the chain to some degree. I'm not the most careful person and I wear my fine jewelry daily, even when walking the dogs and gardening.
My DBTY necklace, I never take off except when I'm forced to for a facial or massage (I always ask if I can leave it on, and they're like nope lol). I shower and sleep with it.
So far the chain itself has not twisted on itself. It has occasionally (probably like 3 times) gotten a random strand of hair wrapped up around it. I have tugged it out of the way here and there when it occasionally gets pulled aside or when I untangle a hair and I don't tug hard but I also don't make a conscious effort about tugging gently either (if that makes any sense).

Again, not saying the chain is super robust. It is still quite a fine chain. But it's not so delicate as to be particularly conscious about it either.

I think the knot is a bit pokey for a daily wear if you are going to sleep on it. I wouldn’t worry about the chain. I’ve had fine Tiffany’s chains on a number of necklaces and they have survived all kinds of abuse.

If you love it and your husband is happy to have given it to you, I say keep it and get him to put it on you.
