Hello! I'm from Italy :-)
I have some LV bags, but they are made in 2012. I loved that canvas! :loveeyes:
Recently, I have bought a speedy 25 bandouliere damier ebene made in 2014.... I have hated that canvas! It seemed thin and fragile :sad: So, i sold it.:crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:
Now, I would buy a speedy 30 in damier ebene (maybe bandouliere, i have to decide jet),
and i would buy it in boutique. But I'm afraid of 2017 canvas is bad as 2014 canvas...

So, IN YOUR OPINION, WHICH IS THE BEST YEAR ABOUT Speedy CANVAS?
So, if you think there is a best year about canvas, I could buy a used but stronger speedy!

the newer speedies seem very thin to me as well. i have a damier ebene speedy 35 that i have used and used and used and it shows no wear. that bag was made in 2010 i think, which was i believe the year before the bandouliere came out. i would watch for a preloved speedy bandouliere that is from around 2011 or 2012, and you might find the canvas to be heavier. the older speedy bandoulieres have the original version chaps by the handle which i personally prefer, not the puffy ones currently used. best of luck and be patient until you find the right one : )

Hi. I’m from Italy too! I bought my monogram speedy b 30 in Venice last year , date code DU2166. It’s made in France and the canvas is thick and looks very similar to the one of my older canvas pieces.

Why is thinner canvas a bad thing? Less lining and thinner canvas allow for handbags to be more lightweight and more pliable. If there's a problem LV usually exchange immediately. It's not like the newer canvas bags are falling apart one by one.

Condoms are thinner, phones are thinner, canvases are thinner. Get on board already! It's almost 2018.

From what I’ve noticed, made in USA canvas isn’t as good as made in France. A lot more prone to cracks and thinner.

I've both... no issues with both. I think it's the user, not so much the bag.

My friends have both, and only issue with the USA one. Again each year and batch is different! So it’s hard to say exactly what the issue really is! I’m sure there are neverfulls from France and Spain that have issues too! With time a lot end up cracking and what not.

All bags, no matter how well you care for them or where they are manufactured, will end up cracking, fading, and ripping.

Disagree! My aunt has had her mono for over 2 years, no cracks or ripping. Fading definitely. That’s why I said a lot instead of all. Because someone just last and stay in mint condition! Fading always happens and so does patina. But it is possible to not have it crack or rip.

You’re missing my point. Eventually, all bags will fall apart. I worked at LV in the early 2000s and bags ripped and cracked then. Some people take better care of their items than others. If there is premature cracking, LV is great at exchanging immediately.

Oops i made a mistake i meant jan 2015 I was wondering how the canvas on the speedys were in this year and month because I ordered one and I'm curious if it's the robbery, thin canvas or if it's a good canvas just curious
