I bought Mulberry Lily on the Real Real. The bag has a chain and leather strap a la Chanel. Part of the leather in the strap is glued together, as it probably cracked. This was not reported in the description (they probably missed it), but it is a serious issue as the bag will not be usable, if it cracks again. I contacted the Real Real with pictures but would prefer to have Mulberry repair instead of returning. The original owner tried to cover up crack and glue with thread but it unraveled as I inspected closely. I would appreciate any advice, as i am quite upset ☹️

Such a shame! Could you share a photo of the damaged chain and leather? I can't quite understand how bad it is I think, just from your description. I have an old and well-loved Lily myself, the leather is worn but not to a point where it affects the overall usability.

Hope you get it sorted one way or another. I still can't quite understand how it looks, especially if the bag is in such good condition. My Lily has leather woven into the chain, but I can't see how it can tear up like you describe even though my bag is well used and is quite a few years old.
Fingers crossed for your lovely Lily!

Did you get a quote for a new strap/chain ? I just bought a Lily with a broken chain and wonder if I should get a new one or find a makeshift solution...
I filled out the repair form and I’m still waiting for someone to reach out. My strap does not need to be entirely replaced so quote would most likely be different. You can go online and try to fill out their form or perhaps take it to a boutique, if you have one close to you.

I will be sending my bag off for repair. It will cost me about 40 GBP plus VAT to have two small areas fixed. I presume that it would be much more to replace an entire strap, especially one with chain.

If I had a leather repair specialist close to me, I would totally do it there. Unfortunately due to COVID, most places here are by appointment only, and I don't want to make unnecessary trips, so I would rather just mail this to Mulberry and have them fix it.
