I recently purchased my first Dior bag. It's the material in this picture but in white! Today I had gone to my medical exam. I placed my bag on the table, and my doctor moved it and the a black pen ran a long mark on the bottom of my bag!!! Are there anyways that I can remove the pen mark completely??? PLEASE offer me some suggestions!!!!!!!! ANY HELP is appreciated. THANKSSS

Hmmm unfortunately that Trotter Romantique line of items is composed of coated canvas with lambskin leather trim, and is therefore unsuitable for drycleaning. I'm not sure whether you'll be able to get the pen mark out as ink stains on the canvas are quite indelible, but I'll ask at work tomorrow for any suggestions. :flowers:

In the meantime, have you tried wiping it down with a damp cloth and some very mild soap, such as hand soap?

well one of the Dior outlet employees who is a member here suggested dry cleaners in a similar thread, so Im just repeating after her.

Also beautifulbasics uses Magic Eraser with good effects.

thanks! that would be of great help for me to ask. i havent tried anything @ this time because i dont want to risk the chance of ruining it more.

Try using Tana brand NEUTRAL color leather cleaning cream. It works really well on leather and the Trotter Romantique PVC canvas. Won't damage the canvas at all but will remove surface dirt and marks easily. It's like using cold cream on the bag. Just apply some cream on the pen mark, wait a few seconds, and use a tissue to work at the mark till it starts removing. My mom's tried this before and it really works.

Hello

Yes! Nat is right...I have used the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to clean my Dior bags....to see Magic Eraser, click here (I wouldn't get the one with Febreeze within it though). It usually takes pen off of leather and sometimes it does work on the coated canvas material such as this. You just wet the sponge a little and gently rub against the pen mark, then wait for it to dry.

Good luck and best wishes, BeautifulBasics:flowers:

p.s. Also! Have you used a toothbrush with a little bit of soapy water and tried scrubbing it? That might work as well! I usually scrub my entire coated canvas Romantique Trotter and Girly bags down this way to keep them looking brand new!

No worries - I've asked my supervisor and 2IC and they have both suggested wiping down the stained area first with warm water and mild soap on a clean washcloth. If that fails, apply a little bit of white toothpaste on an inconspicuous spot and wipe gently with a wet washcloth or soft toothbrush. It is imperative that you do a test on a small, unnoticeable area first before proceeding with the entire stain. Failing this, you can try asking a professional drycleaner, preferably a bag specialist, for what cleaning options are available. (If you are in Sydney, Australia we have a recommended cleaner whose details I can provide you.)

It is important that you treat the stain as soon as possible as it might set the longer it remains; the ink could actually pass through the PVC coating and stain the canvas below. Good luck!

Thanks a lot everyone. I will try with wiping it down with warm water and mild soap first. If it doesn't clean I will try the magic eraser. I will let everyone know how it turns out!!!
