Michael Kors Help! Pale Pink? Lilac?

I've been wanting the pale pink medium Selma messenger since I passed her up last year. I told myself that if MK ever brought that color/style back, I would buy it. Naturally, MK also brought out the lilac color (I've been dying for a pale purple bag) and after seeing it in person, had to have that one as well. I went into this on a bag ban - I really don't need either of these bags, BUT OF COURSE I LOVE BOTH! Now I'm stuck choosing one over the other and I'm completely split 50/50.

I got PP for 20% off and lilac for 25% off so price really isn't going to be a deciding factor. I think both are neutral enough to go with anything so that also isn't a factor. I do prefer SHW over GHW and most of my bags are GHW so that's one for lilac, but I LOOOOVE pink with gold so hardware isn't going to make me choose one over the other, either.

What to do??? It doesn't help that lilac is really tough to capture in photos.

I really love lilac with the silver hardware especially knowing what both colors look like IRL. It seems like pale pink messengers are more easily found on ebay, if that's a concern for you. Lilac seems harder to find right now but not sure how that will turn out later. I've just seen an influx of pale pink things online. I would hold on to both of them for a bit longer to see how you feel after a few days. Macy's has a good return policy! Play around with different outfits. I sometimes change my mind after the newness of the bag wears off - just like what happened with dark dune medium ava, I thought I wanted a dark dune but after a few days I looked at my entire collection and was like, I am not in love with this color at all anymore!

Good advice. I know I'm sorta leaning toward PP at the moment, but I think it's because the newness of lilac has worn off a bit. I'm definitely going to give it several days to decide. I've been staring at lilac for a few days now so I might put her away and stare at PP for a few days, then get them both out together and see if my feelings toward either change!

Can you keep both? Failing that which colours do you wear most? That might help determine best bag to keep.

Personally I love the Pink. Pink seems to go with everything, maybe except red?!

Pale pink is so pretty. I saw lady with pale pink studded Selma satchel once and this bag was stunning. Really pretty when you carry her out.

Lilac is pretty too but it could look grayish in some lights. If you like gray you might wanna keep the lilac.

Both of them are pretty. This is difficult to choose just one.

I'm 100% not going to be any help! I'd say keep them both if that's a viable option! Both such beautiful bags, the lilac does make my heart beat a little faster looking at it but the pink is beautiful also [emoji171][emoji175]

Haha now I'm thinking she should keep both too. If I had to make the choice I wouldn't be able to! I am pretty sure I will end up with a pink and a lilac bag too at one point in the future

You two definitely aren't making it easy! :D I soooooo want to keep both and deep down I think that'll be what happens! Just trying to be responsible and all that! I'm still going to give it a few days and see if one speaks to me more than the other. I think it'd be easier to say keep both if they were different styles. If I do keep both, I think I'll sell the tile blue medium Selma that I'm not as in love with anymore to at least make the hit to my wallet sting a little less.

Haha this is exactly how I justify purchases. Out with one, in with another! I've been selling bags and try to stay ahead but I somehow always justify the next purchase. Hoping after my next purchase I will be bag content (for a long time).:roflmfao:

Exact same with me. However, whenever I think I'm content something else comes out. Then, I look at my shelf to see who has to go.....:D

I sold so many bags in 2015 and was bag content enough to put myself on a ban. I planned on saving some money and enjoying what I had. Now my problem is I have literally nothing left to sell to make room for anything else! All these designers need to stop coming out with gorgeous colors that I HAVE to have! Or maybe I just need to learn that I can't have them all!

I personally love the Lilac after seeing it. But it sounds like you love the pale pink. Perhaps since this it the bag you most wanted, you could keep Pale Pink and wait to see if Lilac goes on clearance. This will most likely happen in July

Thank you all for the feedback. It's helped a ton. I think I agree with most of you - lilac is the way to go. It's just more "me". While I love the pink, I kind of have to agree with Pinkalicious in that it'll be much easier to find this color on eBay, especially since this is the second season it's been out. The lilac really wowed me when I unwrapped it the other night and while unboxing pale pink this afternoon, I don't think it had as much of an initial wow factor. A purple bag also fits into my collection better at the moment, as I don't have a purple and already have a pink Coach bag that I purchased this past December. I just think it makes more sense to keep the lilac and hold out for a really great deal on the pale pink in a few months.

Still, returning this pale pink is going to be tough! It's such a pretty bag! I don't want to regret passing her up a second time.
