Help on getting an authentic Chanel Vintage bag

I am new to this forum, and also new to Chanel. I want to purchase an authentic Chanel vintage black lamb Skin bag from ebay. What would be a fair price range? How do I tell from the picture if the bag is authentic? Since it's vintage, what should I beware regarding the authentic card and serial number?
