Hello all! I have been wanting to get an overnight/weekender style bag for a while. i was leaning towards the faure le page goupille, until i figured out that its a speedy-style bag. the suggested their large carry on bag, but im having trouble getting used to the idea of a north south travel bag. ive never owned one and i dont really know how much id like it long term.

definitely looking for something in the traditional duffle style, and id prefer a canvas, not a leather. budget is about 1300 usd.

thanks in advance!!!!!

I am not going to be a lot of help here because I don't have a high end one. I buy workhorses. I use a (really old) Land's End duffle, a Lo and Sons Catalina that I had a long strap added to by a local seamstress, and a Le Sportsac large weekend duffel. (large or xl?) I usually pack the Le Sportsac inside one of the other two as backup in the event that I overbuy on a trip or something. Depends on the trip which I take, or which combo I take. I pack with packing cubes usually (Spacepak from Flight001) or use mesh laundry bags and roll most of my clothing within them, jeans and sweaters I leave flat within them. It keeps everything safe and contained while saving space.
