Hello everyone

Thanks in advance, needed the help of forum members here.

It's our 10th wedding anniversary in a few weeks and would like to buy something for my wife. She likes simple jewellery in general, however would like to ideally buy Jewellery on which I could inscribe something.

Budget is no option however if it's more than £6,000 would like the piece to hold its value in some form or way. No watches as had got her the Tiffany dial op but she doesn't like wearing watches!

Any help appreciated, and thanks for sharing your knowledge here!!

Jewelry is very much a personal preference so I don't want to give out specific advice on certain items.

However, here are some things to consider:

1) What type of jewelry does she tend to reach for?
- earrings
- rings
- bracelets
- necklaces

2) What brands does she currently have/wear and what brands does she like to shop for?

3) What color of precious metal does she like to wear?
- yellow gold
- pink/rose gold
- white gold
- platinum
- silver

4) Does she like mix and match metal colors or stick to one? or likes to match colors?

5) Is she a diamond lady? (I know you said simple, but you never know what simple means to people lol)

6) And finally, what jewelry design(s) does she currently have so that you don't buy something too similar.

For popular luxury brands, I believe Tiffany and Cartier do engravings. I'm not sure about other brands.

Good luck! No pressure, I'm sure she will love whatever you get her.

Sticks to one. Colours stick to one

No

Love bracelet, tennis bracelet, (not sure about her earrings actually!)

Thanks for the pointers listed the answers above

10th anniversary is significant. I am going to go out in a limb for the point of the conversation ( hope you don’t mind) and suggest that it is possible to even consider an upgrade or remake to her original engagement ring at this time if the pair of you were on a tight budget at the time of original engagement, as so many people tend to be. We were lol.
The budget you have set would allow the addition of side stones etc however time might be against you if it is only in a few short weeks not sure.
An eternity or right hand ring might also be appreciated as it is a significant marker.

As she currently owns earrings and a few bracelets suggests to me that perhaps she doesn’t enjoy the extra fiddle that comes with putting on amd wearing necklaces.

That's quite a good suggestion actually. Thanks for that

Yes of course. Rings, bangles are easily inscribed.
Flexible jewellery such as bracelets amd necklaces would be trickier. A possible work around could be the addition of a little metal engraved plaque, perhaps near the catch.
