Help me pick please

This is my first true designer bag purchase, and I am so very confused! I have been eyeing the Prada Saffiano double zip bags for a while now, but since I am currently not working I want to wait to buy that - it has such a "professional" look that it doesn't fit my current life. So here are my current picks.

Prada Saffiano Cuir - I love the different colored interior, but am confused as to whether I should buy this one or the traditional executive double zip bags. My concern here is few pockets and its open at the top, may cause things to spill out. I am a busy mom of twins and am used to juggling many things, a bag is the last thing I want to have issues with! I like the crossbody aspect of this bag but am so torn. The price tag also seems very high given that Prada bags tend to come on sale. If I had to buy this one, again the colors are confusing. I could go for Caramel, Black, or Glace Red.

Bottega Veneta - I have been reading a lot of good things about this brand, but most of their bags are too slouchy for my taste and don't have compartments. The only bag that allows for organization and has crossbody is the Leggero Satchel, link is below. The only colors available in the store are dull blue, dark grey, and taupe. I don't find the colors very attractive, and since BV is not one of the traditional designer bags, I am not sure if I should pay the $$$$. BV leather is good, but the look is very very understated and doesn't even look or feel like a designer bag given the slightly dull colors. The interior also feels too slouchy and unfinished with the suede interior moving and not attached to the exterior.

Loewe - I LOVE LOVE the soft leather of Loewe but just cannot justify the hefty price tag for such a small bag with non-leather interiors. I tried on the bag (link below) today and it felt light, easy, and comfortable, but it was too small and cost too much for fabric interiors. Just too pricey.

My first pick was Chanel but I am waiting for some new colors to come before I buy. I also bought Proenza Schouler for my daily usage, but am looking for a more high-end brand to add to my collection. I am not as crazy about Louis Vuitton because everyone and their mother has it. I hate their monogramed bags and just can't imagine it as my first bag. They have a good collection and I do like their bags, but not as my first bag since honestly I am sick of seeing a LV. I may go for their clutch in future! Are there any other brands you would recommend or bags that I may have missed? I looked at Dior, Miu Miu, D&G, Fendi, Balenciaga, Mulberry, The Row, Mark Cross, Marni, Lanvin, you name it. I like Mulberry but cannot figure out for the life of me how I can comfortably remove stuff from Bayswater with the flap and holding both handles over my arms. Dior is a bit heavy to carry, and Lady Dior is non-functional, I like something that is easy. I like Fendi Peekaboo but it is too stiff and doesn't carry much stuff. Miu Miu is too bulky and "quilty".

You don't sound that impressed with any of these. It might be better to wait until you find one that you're sure about as you have a nice collection (so you're not running out of bags) and you will be getting a Chanel.

Lovely choices! About the Mulberry Bayswater, take a look at the Baysawter open top tote. It has a turnlock in case you do want to close it, but you could leave it open for access if you want. Also take a look at the Del Rey, you could leave the top open or zipper it up. In addition, mulberry is having a sale right now.

Things to note about Bottega's high price point are their quality leathers and impressive craftsmanship. I do not know about today, but in the past, anyway, their bags were handmade. The BV forum will offer insight, I am sure.

I love the double open tote you are considering too, I was just eyeing it myself. So check out Anya Hindmarch's Ebury, soft Ebury, and Pimlico. The Ebury has been around at least a decade longer than Prada's double zip tote.

I've been considering it since I absolutely LOVE my BV Hobo Maxi and BV accessories, but I prefer cross-body bags.

My only concern (aside from the astronomical price) is whether it will stick out too much when wearing it cross-body.

I personally like that my Baleciaga Velo cross-body is slouchy and so even though it's about 6 inches wide, it doesn't stick out, although I've also been considering getting a felt organizer. http://samorga.com/

But I was just wondering how comfortable it would be given the relatively thin cross-body strap which does not appear to be adjustable. The Balenciaga strap is adjustable and wider, and the special shoulder tab that makes it feel super comfy even with it loaded!
