Hi!

I'm new to this part of the forum so sorry if this post is in the wrong place.

I have spent a good portion of my weekend looking for the perfect black boot and haven't found any that look right.

I'm 5'0 and 107lbs......my calves are athletic but on the smaller side. I've been looking for everyday black boots that are mid-calf in length or end just below the knee. I'm looking for something casual but still classy with a small comfortable heal.....nothing too flat. Something to wear with tights and sweater dresses or skinny jeans. Nothing too western or rugged. I normally wear a size 5.5.

I tried on the Frye Engineer just for size and the 5.5 was too big. Normally I wear a 5.5 in shoes but would be a 5 in those particular ones. The Frye Engineers were too rugged for my style.

Any ideas for my perfect winter black boot? I'm willing to spend up to $225.

Thanks!

do you like buckles? An edgy or a more subdued/conservative style?

Thanks Swanky Mama of Three: I like buckles and a little edgy is fine as long as they're still classy. No western style cowboy boots.

Thanks brokeshopper! I'm looking for a bit more of a heal though. Maybe a heal like the Frye Carmen........but not Frye since their 5.5 is still too big and the leather albeit gorgeous may be too chunky for my frame.

Thanks! The ones with the wedge are cute; I will check them out.

Has anyone worn/seen these in person before? http://www.endless.com/FRYE-Womens-...ort=-product_site_launch_date&sizes=519626011

How do they fit?

I ordered these from endless.com......they arrived today but the shaft ends right below my knee. They are comfortable and fit right but is that too high for a shaft? I'm 5'0 and I don't want to look goofy.

Diz, I read your post with a huge interest since I am looking for the exact same style but in a bootie (I am 5'7" so can pull off the style) or shoes and am open to colors other than black. I also have athletic calves so I can't wear boots that hit me at the wides point of my calves, they make them look wider. I think that you have a bit of that going on in your modeling picture. I have a pair of Stuart Weitzman boots that are in dire need of replacement that were medium height and ended just where my calves were getting wider. In my experience SW shoes are much more comfortable than other shoes in the same price range and heel height so I can wear higher heel in SW. Not sure if I helped but I'd be watching this thread for ideas.
