Helo,

i'm a 20yr old girl from Belgium and I'm trying to compeet in a designer competition... I have to design a set of jewels (earrings, necklace, bracelet, ring) and I really would you like you to help me...

Are there some type of jewels you are looking so hard to find but can't find them? What kind of shapes, colores, stones etc do you like most?? Describe what you would call the perfect set of jewels...

Thanks a lot in advance,

greetings from Belgium ;)

I'd like to see more pieces shaped like fruits. I have an old pearl brooch from the 1940's that's shaped like a grape cluster. I'd love to see more pieces like that, with colored stones.

Baroque pearls are often turned into animals, but I'd like to see them turned into fruits.

I feel that opal is a gemstone often not utilized enough. Opal is a beautiful stone; although brittle, it can enhance a design.

Also, have you looked at green gold?? It is quite beautiful.

If you're trying to compete in a designer competition, may I suggest that you bring your original ideas to the project. What makes a designer successful, competition or otherwise, is following a keen sense of saying something in your medium. If you don't have that, and a developed visual library on which you are already drawing, random input isn't going to get you there.

different coloured metals, green gold, apricot gold, blue gold, also stones in asscher cuts, rose cuts, trilliants, cushions in gemstones like spinel, tanzanite, different sapphires like green, orange, purple, spessartites, chrysoberyl

^I agree^

Good luck in your competition!

while I agree it should be OP's designs, theres nothing wrong with getting some inspiration after all even top designers are influenced by something or someone or even some place! for example look how many times czarinas and prague style has influenced the likes designs of marc jacobs, karl lagerfeld etc :D
good luck with your competition! come back and let us know how you did!
