I purchased these Vera Wang boots from Shopbop and I can't decide if I should keep them. They fit everywhere but they slip at the heel. I'm not sure if the next size down will be too tight.

Also, I'm debating if I should get the taller version from Neiman's.

I love the jewels on the tall version, but I like how the strap wraps around the heel on the ankle version.

Which style do you like better and do you think it's normal for slip on boots to slip at the heel? What could I do to prevent it?

I vote for the shorter ones. They're really cute and I completely agree about the strap going over the heel, it's a nice touch!

Slip-on boots or not, your heel shouldn't be slipping out of them. My experience with all my varying brands of boots is that they stretch and I'd be worried about your heel slippage getting worse. You should maybe try the smaller size in them if possible....

If not you can get heel pads and see how they work for you: http://www.footpetals.com/Heavenly Heelz.html

I'm not sure, I like both for different reasons.

That is the problem I'm having! The short boot is in-stock at several online retailers. I think the tall are exclusive to Neiman's and they sold out once.

I'm trying to decide what pair I would get the most wear from.:thinkin:
I LOVE the jewels on this boot and the tall boot has lots of bling!
One of the reviews described this shoe best...it's like leather and lace. ;)
I was pleasantly surprised to see they were distressed. I think that the distressed leather with rhinestones is a very nice touch.

I was worried about the leather stretching too. Maybe I will order the next half size down before I send this size back.

Cute! Maybe you could wear some thick socks?

I tried that and it does make the shoe slip less but they still slip.
I have a pair of these and sized down one whole size and they still slip. I wondered it that is just par for slip on ankle boots?

I bought the CAboots 3 or 4 years ago when the price was $400. I can't believe how much the price has gone up! I found them in a fashion magazine at my hairdressers.
The boots are amazing!

Thank you all for your input. :D
I was convinced I needed the short version because I have short legs and a long torso. I tried them on with a skirt & skinny jeans this morning and they did make my legs look stumpy. :shrugs:I'm sending the short back and keeping my Neiman's order for the tall version. If only I had longer legs. :girlsigh: I hope I like the tall version as much as the short. The jewels and the distressed leather are a gorgeous combo!

Thanks again!

I think fit is the most important factor when deciding whether or not to keep a pair of shoes--more important than price, color, features, etc. If they don't fit, they don't fit, so I wouldn't keep them.
