Hi Ladies! I need some advice. I'm debating between two bags - the medium Soho Chain bag and the Bamboo Daily bag. I have some credits from a preloved bag site so I'm looking to use it. I couldn't find enough reviews on the Bamboo daily bag (pros/cons etc) and need more advice about the soho chain.

A little bit about me - I'm about to be a mom (any day now), live in the city and take the subway everywhere. Most of my recent bags are either the mom bags (LV NF, Palermo etc) or satchels (Proenza Sch PS1s)... so i'm looking into these 2 styles. Any inputs would be appreciated! :)

Thank you and happy holidays!

I like the Soho better too. (I know you’ve decided on style and not trying to talk you out of either gorgeous bag, but I always found that having a diaper bag to put in the stroller and a small crossbody with my own essentials worked best for me. It gave me my own little area of peace and style to conveniently have my wallet, keys, lipstick on me and the heavier diaper bag off my shoulder and stashed in the stroller).

thank you! i do appreciate the input, I see what you mean though. i tend to like my bags a bit big - our diaper bag is also a backpack.. but i get what youre saying, Maybe I'll look into that as well

I don’t have the soho but wonder if the chain straps fall off the shoulder easily? I had a problem with another bag (similar style) and found it extremely annoying.

I bought the Soho bag when I was pregnant and hoped to use it as a stylish bag with my newborn but boy was I wrong. Sometimes you get stuck with a baby, a diaper bag, pram, baby carrier, public transport. Plus add a bulky bag to that it all got a bit too much.

I would highly recommend a stylish Crossbody bag and have a separate diaper bag.

But out of your two choices I would pick the Soho, it still looks very modern and stylish. :)

Soho is pretty but I had one and it wasn’t easy to get in/out with one hand. The chain falls off my shoulders all the time. Looks good tho but practically not for me. A Crossbody bag that allows you to easily access your items with one hand is better because the other hand will be occupied with baby! So my vote is for the 1st or 2nd bag.

I have a Michael Kors bag with a chain strap like that. The leather bits are nice for making it a bit more comfortable, but it's still a chain strap that slips around, makes noise, and is a bit heavy. As a new mom, you're already going to be lugging around an infant. In my opinion, I wouldn't want a chain strap bag as well.
Also, the Soho can't be zipped closed, right? Imagine leaning down to pick your baby up out of their strolled, the bag slips from your shoulder, and stuff falls out. It just seems too high maintenance for having a baby.
I'm not a mom though, so maybe it's easier than I'm imagining :)

I have the Soho Chain bag and I love it. But it isn’t very convenient to get in and out (probably easier than your other choice though). Chains falling off shoulder hasn’t been a problem. Sizewise Soho is comparable to Palermo pm.

I’d get the Soho chain bag anyway because it’s pretty and classic looking and I believe it’s discontinued so you might not be able to buy it later on. But with kids a small cross body bag would be my personal choice as others have suggested.
