I have wanted to add a Pochette Metis to my collection. Initially I was leaning towards monogram canvas. However, I find myself drawn to the Empreinte noir. Then they added the Lockme oxford and I am now paralyzed by indecision.

I would use it for an everyday bag so I do worry about the weight of a leather bag?

My style is casual but we do eat out and or travel quite a bit.

For those that have both canvas and Empreinte which do you reach for the most?

I carry the large Empreinte key pouch, agenda pm, cosmetic pm, and glasses. Would these fit?

I can’t speak to the PM in canvas, but I do have it in empreinte noir, and it’s honestly the bag that I use the most these days. Despite being leather, it’s really not heavy at all. The capacity is excellent (and I don’t travel light), it’s durable, and the empreinte is a bit more under the radar (def what I wanted), and slightly less casual than the mono. I‘m not a huge LV person - I only own the PM, and a Siena - but I absolutely love my PM.

ETA - check out the marketplace, there’s a PM in empreinte noir available at an amazing price (not my listing)!

check out Amber Ashleigh on YouTube. She has both bags and quite a few videos on both bags.
I had the monogram version but exchanged it for another bag when it had the glazing defect. Later I got then noir version but didn’t use it nearly as much as when I had the monogram. While both bags are casual I feel the monogram is more so. The empreinte one is more carefree without the vachetta. so it depends how how you feel about maintaining the bags. Good luck deciding!

I have both. I first got the canvas and loved it so much that I got the empriente noir. The canvas version gets a ton more use but I'm definitely a canvas girl. I think it boils down to whether you're a canvas girl or empriente girl. Which are you? I use my empriente when the occassion may suit it better... due to weather or wanting something quieter, otherwise, it's canvas all the way. And yes, while the empriente isn't super heavy, it is the heavier option.

I have canvas and empreinte. Sold my canvas and happy with empreinte. But.. I sold it too at the end.. Just tired of Metis. Hard to close if the front compartment is not full. But it’s a nice style. I like the back pocket, perfect for phone. Good luck on deciding.

I have had the canvas, the canvas reverse, the Empreinte in blue red and in tourterelle. I have sold all.

Like balen.girl I was tired of the Metis style (too see everywhere) and the closure of the bag annoyed me so much. The Metis was also too bulky for me and also too heavy. It's a nice bag, but it's just not for me!

But if I should choose a Metis now (which is not the case), it would be the "normal" canvas. Good luck on deciding!
