Hello! I'm new here but I've been stalking the forums for a little while...
I'm planning on purchasing a designer bag as a graduation gift for myself, preferably LV from various sources regarding quality/timelessness.
I want something that's different from my current non-designer black leather camera bag – something timeless that can be worn day/night, a bit more structured than my current bag, and will last a while!
I'm leaning towards these ones so far:

- Locky BB
- Spring Street
- Saint Placide
- Pochette Grenelle
- MyLockMe BB
- Lockme Chain PM

Would love to hear some opinions or any recommendations!
Thank you in advance xx

First question, how old are you? Don't actually need to reply, but I think your age/where you are in life will have the greatest effect on a bag's usability. Do you want this bag to a potential forever bag to remember as part of your graduation? Or are you ok with letting it go when your needs change?

I turned 25, and while I still own small bags, they don't dominate my collection anymore, and I'm not interested in buying more. I loved small and nameless bags for going out (still do), because I don't have to worry about spilled drinks on $$$$ items. However, these days I want bags that can fit my wallet, and 2-3 pouches. It's my health needs that have drastically changed, so I need a bag that can carry my day-to-day essentials. All the bags you picked are relatively small. Fine for a night out, but it might be lacking for day to day, especially if you carry more than a wallet and phone, and if you're at an age where you'll be looking for work/working.

Bag size aside, all the bags you picked don't look classy to me, except for saint placide. Spring Street is in vernis (patent leather), which is a high maintenance leather. The rest of the bags you picked have a very large/obnoxiously sized focal point. That design point is very "in" right now, but it wasn't 5-10 years ago. Also, keep in mind the current situation, aka global pandemic with many economies and markets struggling to go back up. During times of low economic wealth, fashion tends to be a lot more neutral and quiet. Big might be in right now, but if it becomes to be in poor taste to show off one's wealth, expect fashion houses to usher in minimalism again.

Personally, I would pick between neonoe bb, montaigne bb, soufflot bb, alma bb, speedy b25, pochette felicie, and any vavin.

Neonoe bb is a contemporary take on noe, a classic bucket bag to LV and its history. Montaigne bb is structured and slightly feminine, always a classic recipe for women's handbags. Soufflot bb is like montaigne, but it has more of the vachetta detailing, which is a staple of LV design and aesthetic. Alma and speedy are classics, although I would pick alma any day over speedy. Pochette felicie is really a wallet on chain, but the plus is that the insert is your wallet, so you can put something else in it that isn't a wallet. All the vavins have a good size, and their closure (very strong metal) has a decorative hinge-lock look to it. Locks and other brass/metal details are also synonymous with lv, since it was originally a luggage company.

Thank you for the insightful advice! Will definitely be keeping this in mind :)
