Hello everyone, I'm trying to decide on an xmas gift for my mom.
I thought I had my mind made up on a black soft calf multipocket but when I consulted a friend of mine, she offered to sell me her unused (she recieved it as a gift and never carried it) black jerzey stam for the same price as the multipocket.
Being a 21 year old guy new to MJ, the black jerzey stam is tempting as it was a LE/resort collection piece and because I can't help but think of the Stam as the signature MJ bag. The fact that it is made of jerzey just seems to me a new take on a signature piece. On the other hand, I havent yet seen the jerzey version in person and am afraid that it would either suffer from durability issues or seem inappropriate for a woman in her mid 40s.
That said, here are a few things I know about my mom's tastes: she likes hardware/elements that give a bag a distinct character i.e. buckles. She primarily prefers shoulder bags. She likes bags that easily transition between work (corporate enviroment) and weekend. While she likes hardware and of course wants her bags to look modern, she stays doesnt tend to go for things that would be absolutely dated in a year or two. Also, she doesnt yet have a great black bag (she's been a LV monogram fan the last few years).
I included a stock pic of both bags just as a reference. What do you ladies think? Which should I get my mom as her first MJ bag?
