I have a dilemma that I cannot work through and I need help. I want another classic and timeless tote in a neutral tan or gray for summer and to pair with the bright colors in my spring wardrobe as black is too heavy and my pop of color bags will be too much.
I am tied between the Prada saffiano lux tote and the Ysl sac de jour. the Prada would be either caramel or Sabbia whereas the Ysl would be pebbled gray.
Here is my challenge. I prefer the look of the Prada but I have had 2 in the past and I sold them because the saffiano coating literally wore off leaving a sticky, rubbery handle underneath. I also used them as work bags and overstuffed them so they lost shape. I wouldn't do that again.
The sac de jour is sturdier but the pebbles leather is the only way to go as I had a red smooth leather which I also sold because it didn't hold shape and scratched too easily.
I want a bag that will wear well and bags resistant to corner wear are big for me. The Prada shows corner wear. The Ysl has the sealed corners so they are a lot less likely to get scuffed and look worn over time. What would you choose??
