I am finally thinking of putting in an SO for my first birkin, and I have a few questions for the experts here.

1. I hear 35 can get heavy quickly. I don't do very well with heavy bags. So out of all the leather options, which one is the lightest?

2. Between vert anis and chartreuse, which one is greener, which one is yellower?

3. How are the prices of JPGs compared to 35cm birkins for the same leather and hardware?

Many thanks!

1. The lightest leather is Chevre or Vache Liagee
2. Vert anis is more green; Chartreuse, more yellow
3. JPGs in Clemence usually run around $1K more than a 35cm in Clemence

1. I hear 35 can get heavy quickly. I don't do very well with heavy bags. So out of all the leather options, which one is the lightest? As O said, Chevre or VL.

2. Between vert anis and chartreuse, which one is greener, which one is yellower? Depends what you mean by greener and yellower...and the leather. Vert anis is very bright apple green in togo, quite yellow-toned in chevre, for example. Chartreuse is "duller' (though no less beautiful) than V/Anis. There is also Vert Feuillage, which has more grey-ish undertones.

3. How are the prices of JPGs compared to 35cm birkins for the same leather and hardware? Gosh, don't know. I'm not a fan of the JPG Birkin.

Thanks orchids and GF. I have never seen Vache Liagee, is there a picture of it somewhere on the forum?

I am still not 100% on going with a green, but if I do, I don't want it too yellow toned. So sounds like vert anis in Chevre wouldn't be the right choice then. How heavy a leather is togo? How does vert anis take to Vache Liagee?

i don't find chartreuse duller or yellower. tods123, here's comparison between chartreuse & vert anis of our 2 members.

Chartreuse is definitely distinct from Vert Anis. My Vert Anis in Togo is significantly brighter than the Chartreuse in Clemence I tried on. The Chartreuse has more of an olive undertone to it that you can see in the first photo Dior put up. Here are pictures of mine; the first you can see the clover key chain in Chevre looks very different from the Vert Anis in Togo, and then the action shot shows that it is much brighter than Chartreuse in Clemence.

You really can't compare the vert anis in croc to anything else, it's such a pale, different colour in croc (and ostrich, for that matter) - I'll find a comparison pic I have of vert anis in togo & chevre, hang on...

I stand by that chartreuse is duller...not ina bad way, mind you, but it is definitely not nearly as vibrant as vert anis.

Helpful pic GF--ITA with your statement. Dior, I think it's hard to tell from the pictures of the Clemence/Croc because they were taken without flash so they do look similar, but IRL the contrast is quite evident, particularly with Vert Anis in Togo. Both are lovely shades nonetheless.

GF, thanks for the pic of togo-chevre comparison in vert anis, I definitely see what you are saying about yellow-toned in chevre.

Dior, which leather is that Chartreuse in your first birkin picture?
