Help me decide on a bag!

So I'm quite new in terms on purchasing a luxury bag although I've been an admirer for a long time. I would like some input as to decide which bag to go for as my first "big girl" bag. I think I'm finally at an age where I've got my life together and by the end of the year I'll be finished with my Diploma so I'd like a bag to earmark that stage of my life.

I'm currently deciding between the Givenchy Antigona, Louis Vuitton Speedy, the Saint Laurent Cabas and the Saint Laurent Shopping Bag.

I've liked the Antigona for a while although it's putting me off because it seems like the new Prada Saffiano tote - everyone has it.

I like the Saint Laurent for the Chevron Shopping Bag and the Cabas since they're slightly edgy but still simple enough but I'm not sure if it'll be too heavy?

The Speedy might seem like a weird bag to include but I have quite a strong child hood memory associated with it. I knew a older girl who had one and thought she was the coolest person, so I wanted the bag she had. I thought it would make me cool too haha

As a first luxury bag I would suggest you to buy a black bag. I would also suggest you to think about the practicality. Think about your needs, do you usually use big or small bags? Are you a handheld or shoulder strap girl? Would you prefer to have a zippered bag (unlike the shopper)?

Personally I would take the Antigona, but as it was my ''first love'' bag, I might be a little bit biased. It comes in different sizes and the A/W 15 model has longer sholder strap, which is a big bonus.

Speedy is a classic, very light bag and easy to maintain. But I would rather take the Speedy Bandouliere, which is the same bag but has a shoulder strap.I know it is more expensive than the original Speedy, but makes your life so much easier. In my opinion, the strapless Speedy is really awkward and a pain in the *** to carry around.

I don't know a lot about SL bags. I'm not a fan of the shopper, I think it is a little too big and booring for me. Besides it can't be (comfortably) worn on the shoulder and doesn't have a zipper. But if you like the simplicity of it, go for it.

I'm not exactly sure what kind of cabas are you looking for, but I think it might be just fine..

Have you tried on the bags in person? I know I had my ideas of my first big girl bag (like I did for my first big girl shoes), but it wasn't until I tried them on that I learned what I wanted for my first big investment/everyday/this is it piece wasn't what I thought it would be.

I say try them all on. Only you know where your comfort level is with weight, capacity, and edginess.

I'm sorry I'm not really steering you in one direction or another, but I really think trying them on will really help.

I also recommend trying them on in person and seeing which one catches your attention the most. The one you fall in love with is the one that you should buy. My first designer bag was the black medium Givenchy Antigona and I don't regret it at all. It's perfect for both day and night, fits a lot of things, and can be dressed up or down.

I would suggest the LV Speedy. I had seen a lady wearing it an outdoor café and fell in love with it. It was my first designer bag and many many years later, I still have it. Lightweight, no maintenance, versatile, it has it all![emoji7][emoji7]

I have Speedy, Speedy B, YSL Cabas, Antigona. Totally agree with celcea on Speedy B.

Antigona looks very chic...but heavy if u are planning to get med size.

YSL Cabas look nice when new but get out of shape pretty fast, mine has obvious water spot and is already out of shape despite I seldom use her. If u get in small size, maybe it won't lose shape so fast.
