Help me decide: Chanel Beige Clair or Chanel mini Black or Chanel black reissue

Hi all!

I need some help and opinions to decide which of the following I should get for my second Chane
1. Chanel black mini rectangle w LGHW
2. Chanel small or medium beige clair in GHW
3. Chanel black reissue 225 or mini (not sure on sizing - mini doesnt look as “classic”). GHW or SHW - not sure which is better.

i currently have a black cf in medium with gold cavier.

Please feel free to share experiences/opinions on the sizing and frequency of usage.

P.S. i am asian with fair yellow skin undertone, i am worried beige clair will wash me out as I believe it has a yellow undertone.

*i am aware and dont mind that all these combinations require waiting time (esp minis)

JMO, I am a medium to dark Asian, yellow undertones.
I used to wear a lot of chanel handbags pre 2008 (when I switched to Hermes)
I regretted every beige Clair bag my SA sold me Or my mom (between us, we had a lot of beige claire)
all of them (and there was some variation in shade, made me feel yellow.
I do wear Hermes gold, etoupe, etain, and gres T.
Last summer, I bought my first chanel bag in a long time: so black mini chevron reissue. I don’t use it much, but I love it.
the majority of your choices above are somewhat gold toned hW. I would buy whatever HW you prefer, but my own personal preference is :so black; ruthenium; shw. You mentioned shw as a last choice. If I picked among your gold choices, I would probably select LGHW as most neutral . JMO though! My advice is to narrow it down like you have above, but always keep an open mind, who knows you could fall in love with a gunmetal boy bag :D

Agree with @880 ; I am also an Asian with yellow-undertone skin. Every beige claire looks terrible against my skin tone. Either I looked more yellow or the bag looked more yellow (and not in a good way lol)
I’ve realized that if I want a “nude”-colored bag, it’s better if it’s more on the pink side (maybe peach or coral if I had more fair skin, but I like to tan lol)

thank you for the reply! You have stated my fears so very clearly. It looks nice on people with darker skin tone or asians that are fair but without the yellow undertone in their skin. but because i am fair with yellow undertones in my skin, I am definitely hesitatant. Without a beige clair, there are days i feel so yellow just by looking in the mirror:lol: so thanks for sharing your experience. I may be leaning more to black rectangle mini in either LGHW or SHW. I like the feel of so black hardware but I am hesistant on whether it will chip with years to come and it will look pretty obvious.

do you have other recommendations of colour for a small or medium cf in cavier that would be great for frequent usage? As its in cavier, i m happy to get a lighter colour. I have considered dark forest green to be a colour that potentially could be easy to match. I am hestitating about a grey bag as although the colour is nice, the light grey makes an outfit looks alot more matured as compared to black. I dont know how to explain further but hope you get me:blush:

i have a maroon and white diorama and love it so i dont think i would choose a red or white again.

thank you for sharing! Probably i wont consider the beige clair anymore. I have seen it on asian girls with fair skin (without the yellow undertone in the skin like mine) look so good with the beige clair especially with silver hardware. But probably not for me.
What other colours would you recommend other than black for chanel cf?

I am korean. I completely understand about the beige Claire concern. Beige and caramel were the last two bags added to my collection because it was something missing from my collection and whenever I wore summer outfits , I felt I needed a beige colored bag to match.

Caramel is a nice option. I actually just got the 21a dark beige which looks more like milk tea. Doesn't have pink or yellow undertone. I agree with the above where you can get pink undertone beige. I'm not a pink girl so I was super excited when they came out with the dark beige for 21a. It looks so much better against my skin.

Agree with @ashin121 something like the caramel would be very nice and complimentary. I know the caramel is like a unicorn bag now unfortunately, so it's difficult to get without paying a huge premium. :sad:
But anything caramel would probably work.

Are you looking for more neural colored bags? I know the light to dark grays are very popular currently.

Yes!! Your bag looks amazing :love: i am def looking for a neutral colour beige that has no pink or yellow undertone. Hopefully there will be more nice beige shades coming before another 1k price increase:sad:

Exactly! But caramel is a little too strong a brown for my liking and yes definitely not worth the premium. Although it still is very pretty.
Yes! Definitely trying to find a neutral coloured bag. I know the light grey is popular but i find it hard to match to outfits? Maybe its just me, but it makes a look look way too matured for my liking :sad: maybe i havent seen the right combination of clothes plus the light grey bag to my liking. Hehe. The dark grey looks almost like black unfortunately so i passed on that. But a shade inbetween both light and dark grey would have been ideal.
Otherwise, i am thinking of a dark forest green. Since i wear lots of bright colours, think it may be good!
Do you have any other suggestions?

I am Asian with yellow undertones and light skin tone. Beige claire looks horrible on me as well, it was so bad that I didn't even bother to take a picture though both small and medium were available. If you can get your hands on 19B Beige, give it a try.
I consider its undertone neutral and it doesn't clash with skin undertones nor outfit. In Asia, people are still trying to hunt for 19B Beige. Also agree that caramel-toned beige complements Asian yellow undertone really well. I once stared enviously at a lady carrying a dark caramel beige jumbo cos it popped so beautifully against her tanned, yellow undertone skin.

To answer your question, option 2 followed by option 1 as you already have a black medium. Black tends to bring out the yellow in GHW more, so LGHW with black is perfect. I am hunting for option 1 myself too :smile:
