I'm torn. Hubby is buying me a special gift for upcoming Mother's day. It's my first mother's day! I want something special and want to get something from Tiffany.

I always loved their dbty even though I know I can get bigger stones elsewhere. When I tried a single stone dbty in store, I have to admit I was a bit underwhelmed by how small the stone was (0.1ct). Besides, I already own a diamond solitaire 0.5ct for everyday, which may be why the tiffany dbty felt so small.

I would still like to have something from their dbty collection and also tried the three stone version which I loved. Sure, the stones are still small, but it is a different look than my solitaire necklace, so I feel like I could justify the purchase, compared to the single stone version.

The thing is, I plan on getting a long dbty necklace customized down the road in the future. Something like 36" with at least 10 stones so that I can wear it long and layer. Keeping this in mind, I fear that getting a three stone dbty might end up being too similar with the long dbty doubled up. Anyone owns both?

Please share your wisdom! It is not everyday that I get to shop at Tiffany and want to make the best choice. If you own any dbty from Tiffany, do share your experience! Thanks in advance.

Have you tried the 0.2ct in store? This is a personal style choice, and just have fun trying stuff on! Did you husband have an opinion, since it's a gift from him?

I also have bigger diamond solitaire pendants but feel the DBTY, since it's attached, gives a much more casual and wearable look. I like smaller DBTY (<.20) because then it floats, instead of dragging the necklace down (then might as well wear the pendant at that point). I hardly ever wear my solitaires, but have been wearing my DBTY daily since I got it. Just my personal preference.

Oh and, congrats on your first mother's day! Here's to many more to come! :)
