Hi all
I decided to buy my first decent Cartier watch which will be my only watch for many many years. I will dress it up and down, wear to the office, and on weekends.
I am debating between Tank Must and Panthere small, and can’t really decide. My wrist is 17 cm, I am 169 cm tall.
I like Tank Must, it’s affordable and stylish and can be worn with leather strap, so I can have 2 looks.
On the other hand, Panthere small is seems to be to small for my wrist (or it’s just in comparison with bigger Tank?). I like Panthere a lot but I decided I will not size up for medium as it is out of my budget and I personally just do not feel comfortable spending this amount of money on quartz watch.
I also tried Tank Francaise, I saw one girl on Instagram wearing it and I think this is very beautiful watch but for some wit just don’t look good on me?
I would love to hear your thoughts on what watch I should get, which one suits better my wrist.
Thank you!

The classic Cartier Tank Must looks great on your wrist and with your Cartier Rolling Ring. The Panthere, as you already know, looks too small. The Tank Franchise looks clunky on you compared with the Must!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I really love Tank Must style, these lines and simplicity, but I also adore Panthere style, for me it’s sad that Panthere doesn’t exist in non quartz version, it would be perfect lifetime watch but I read that quartz watches lasts “only” 20-30 years so idk :((

I happen to love the tank francais on your wrist
they are all beautiful, but I think the TF fits very nicely
TF is a beautiful watch It looks better on photo, as I looks at this photo it really looks nice and sits well comparing to wrist and hand proportions. But in reality it didn’t make impression on me, great watch but maybe not for my style and appearance? I wanted to try it and it made me sad it doesn’t work

they're all beautiful. IMO the Panthere looks more dressy so for everyday I prefer the first one. Is it waterproof? If not you might want to me careful with it. Even hand washing can affect it. I have an old Rolex that isn't waterproof and a jewelry repair guy gold me I should just wear it for dress, not every day.

Good remark! I even did not think about it!
Checked on the web page, all these models are water resistant up to 30 meters/3 bar

I think for what you are looking for the Tanks looks more suitable on you.
As for which tank, that depends on what kind of look you are going for. ;)
TF is a little more bold, a little more masculine and TM is a little lighter, less heavy-weight, maybe a bit more streamline in appearance.

I do agree that the Panthere watch faces run quite small. I felt underwhelmed when I tried on the Panthere in the small size, which is why I went for the medium. And I'm 165 cm tall with 14-14.5cm wrists at the smallest part, depending how tight I want to go.
I do agree, it's a hefty price for a quartz watch though.

I may be biased against the panthere bc I remember it from decades ago, but have you thought of the santos or a round like the pasha C. They comes in a variety of formats and I think would fit your wrist nicely. My issue with the first tank is that it doesn’t seem to wrap around your wrist, but perhaps that is also the quirk of the photo. By the way, I wouldn’t worry overly about a quartz watch only lasting decades. Tastes do change, and in twenty years, who knows whether you will be wearing a watch. . . Buy a cartier that you love today. Any of the watches you have chosen are considered classic.

First of all, congratulations on the possibility of getting a new watch! They all look great on you! I just went through the same dilemma.

I decided I do have a watch similar to the Panthere, so I didn’t want to duplicate styles. It’s an older Bedat with diamonds that was my aunts watch. Then I was looking at the Tanks. I liked the Francaise, but my vision is not great, so the silvery face was a reason I didn’t go for it- even though it is classic. I decided on the Tank Must in small.

I really love it! The face is very nice compared to my regular watch- Rolex OP with darker mother of pearl face. I am used to only having automatic watches, but after talking to a few SA, they said the battery last almost 8 years. Not sure if that is true though.

As far as the water resistance, I called numerous SA, since that was what put me off in the past from getting Cartier vs Rolex. They each told me that you could wash your hands, get rained on, and two SA said you could shower- which I would not do.
I love that you can add fun leather straps as an option too!
I hope that helps!:)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Panthere small looks great on your wrist on photos! On my 17 cm wrist it lost completely, I ordered it online because wanted to take a look and decide, but on me in size small it looks kind a outdated, while on medium size it looks more stylish and modern.

I saw Santos, despite the fact this is a great timeless model, i doesnt speak to me at all, maybe I am too young for it yet :)
I prefer watches in bracelet style, not too tight, so I honestly did not pay attention how Tank must sits on my wrist, I just remember it was pretty comfortable. I will have to try it again and take a look.

Thank you so much! This was a long way :)
I also do not have a good vision and I suppose it will not get better during the time, so this is +1 to Tank Must. Good to know that it also rain proof, I would not take a shower with it as well.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
