Help me choose- YSL or Chanel?

Hi everyone! I am ready to buy my first luxury designer bag but I am having trouble choosing which one I want, I would love people's opinions! I am stuck between the classic Chanel wallet on chain and the YSL nano sac de jour. It will be an everyday bag and I'd get both in black.

Having a Chanel bag has always been a dream of mine, and I feel like the woc suits my style best compared to their larger bags. I am pretty young so I like the smaller and more subtle look it has while still being a classic style that will never go out of fashion. I know it doesn't hold a lot and am okay with that, I usually just use my LV mini pochette as a wristlet most days anyway. I am also interested in buying it now because if I wait much longer I think it will increase in price again and at that point it's just not worth it. If I bought it now it would be my only Chanel for quite a few years, so in that regard it would be nice to cross something off my bucket list. It's unfortunately very hard to find right now- I've been trying for a month and still no luck and it is frustrating.

The sac de jour would definitely be more practical and is readily available which I appreciate. I am not the most patient person lol. I love the classic shape, it would never go out of style either and I love the minimal branding on it. It also holds a lot more which would be nice some days. However it doesn't have a closure which worries me for when I go into the city, and I'd be hesitant taking it on my honeymoon next year because I'd be afraid of getting pickpocketed. The woc is much smaller and can fit close to the body or under a coat. I could also buy the sdj later even if it increases in price because it is an actual bag and would still be worth it to me. However I've wanted it for about five years and want to buy it now while I have the opportunity :lol:

Sorry for the long post, but if anyone has any advice or opinions or has either of these bags I would really love to hear it.

Hello no shade to YSL iI love them. But long term I advise Chanel. There bags remain similar with time making it timeless. They go up in price every year and have an amazing re sale value. I do understand they are more expensive and harder to find. I have I vote Chanel it will literally last you a life time and never go out of fashion. ..... (but both amazing options).

You have 2 great choices. If it was me buying, I'd get the WOC. You can probably get a pristine SDJ second hand later on for a great price but the WOCs prices are getting really high and the second hand prices rise at the same pace.
If you're worried about pickpockets, you could get a zipper organizer or a pouch that will keep your things a bit more secure in the SDJ.

One carries almost nothing and one carries your stuff. I'd pick a bag that is actually a bag over a WOC that is really not long-term functional. The WOC is truly just a wallet - if you have the chance try it in the store before you make the decision, it's very small even for the most minimal of women. I'd probably pick the YSL and continue to save for a slightly larger Chanel (mini).

Both are really beautifu. It’s hard to choos.
but I have third choice for you.

the YSL envelope it looks like the Chanel but has more space and it’s way less expensive than the Chane.
if you are okay with Wocs. YSL has many beau ones

good choice besides the Chanel has lots of dupes, so many people will say it’s not the same thing but I disagree a nice quilted leather flap will do the trick for you.

I’d say good choice! Im a Chanel girl through and through but Ive sold a classic medium flap and a WOC simply because they’re too small for my lifestyle. In this day and age where mobile phones are getting larger by the year, i’d put off the Chanel and save up for a flap.
