I love embossed croc and other embossed exotics, but Saint Laurent's grain leather is so beautiful I actually prefer it over croc. And it's quite durable, too.

I like both. Croc is more edgy and a statement. Grained is more reserved and elegant. Both are timeless and gorgeous. I i had to choose i'd pick the grained one.
