Hi ladies I need help finding a decent black shopper tote mainly for work. I need it to hold letter size papers, files,a tumbler and perhaps light books as well.
Which one would you recommend?
1. Delvaux -d bag
2. Alaia - mina 32
3. Valextra shopper
4. Hermes Garden File 28 425187ED-B1C4-4C6E-86EC-C493960F797E.png665ECAA7-7CED-426B-B516-5C8DA4673592.jpeg65E6648B-1944-4CD5-8532-EDD633A1A761.pngin black canvas?

Jeez, this is the first post like this where I've actually really loved all the possibilities! What a tough, glorious choice you have to make - I'll be following this thread.

Sorry I'm no help.
Thanks for your feedback! A quick question for you- do you think the perforated Alaia works for all seasons? I usually use my white small mina for summer but wondering if the black one might also be okay for winter..

I would probably keep a perforated bag for the warmer months, you're right - or reserve it for occasions that are a little less sedate than a work week. I may have to agree with JenJBS and choose the Delvaux over the others...the workmanship is unsurpassed and it's just such a beautiful piece. Please let us know what you decide to buy!

As much as I love the Alaïa laser-cut, I'm not sure it's best for a work bag. I like the solid Alaïa and the Delvaux. The H Garden File to me looks off - a Garden Party though is great if you would like a less structured bag.

Thanks alot for kindly sharing your thoughts ladies!! Much appreciated!

Now I have a follow up question for @QuelleFromage @JenJBS and @Joule regarding the Delvaux bag. So I justed posted two captured pictures from instag*** that shows the bag in real life. I am worried that the leather(soft rodeo leather) and the bottom of this bag seems less sturdy than the solid Alaia or valextra.. I don’t own any Devaux so not sure how durable the rodeo leather may be. The solid Alaia on the other side seems to have a harder bottom although the leather might still be prone to scratches(picture posted here -same leather bag in a smaller size for reference)? Any thoughts and what would you prefer between the black Delvaux and black solid Alaia?

The Delvaux bag does look floppy.

The Alaïa bag will probably scratch a bit, but it will have character. I am always biased toward Alaïa (and toward Hermès for bags, but H doesn't make a really good laptop bag IMO).

The Valextra's nice too; Jennifer Aniston's character in The Morning Show carries Valextra.

I have and love bags from both Alaïa and Delvaux, but in my own experience, I think Delvaux has the edge over Alaïa when it comes to craftsmanship. Both are exquisite and extremely well made, but the quality of my Delvaux is seriously off the charts.

Maybe an insert would help with the structure? The giant tote I carry is a Céline Cabas, and as floppy as it is on its own, an organizer does wonders for improving its posture.

You can't go wrong here.

I may have to look this show up.

Thanks alot for the extra input! I should definitely check The Morning Show..
Also totally agree with you on H not making good work bags... although I do have and love my lindy and evelynes..

I also have a soft spot for Alaïa, which makes this decision more difficult.

It's great to hear your opinion given that you own bags from both designers! Is your Delvaux in box leather or rodeo? I hear the box leather ones are studier than the rodeo ones, although the rodeos are more scratch resistant...

Definitely taking your advice on using organizers...that is a great idea to cope with the floppy structure of this lightweighted Delvaux shopper.. Oh boy, this will be a tough choice!
