Hi everyone!

I could use a little help deciding on my next bracelet and would love your opinions—especially from those of you who’ve had experience with either of these pieces (or have strong feelings about something totally different!).

I’m torn between two options:

Vintage Alhambra in white gold with onyx and diamonds
Perlée clovers in white gold

A bit of context: I’m male, 47, and already own the vintage Alhambra in white gold guilloché, which I wear all the time and absolutely love. It’s become a signature piece for me.

If I go for one of these, I’m not sure if I’d wear both on the same wrist or split them between wrists—open to styling ideas too. And honestly, if you think I should skip both and consider something like a Cartier Love bracelet or something unexpected, I’m all ears.

I’d really appreciate your honest thoughts. Which would you choose—and why (or why not)?

Thanks in advance!

Oh! Exciting choices. I love stacking Alhambra’s so I am biased towards directing you to the “Panda” as it is affectionately called here, the onyx/pave WG VA. Also the sparkle from the pave VA motifs is unreal and very enjoyable. I personally hate the feeling of bangles so that would be right out for me. Have you tried them on to see how they feel on you? Also as FYI: I believe the Panda is difficult to get in some regions, so there may be a wait.

Hi,
I actually have both those pieces you are considering. To me, the 5 motif is a bit easier to wear, but the Perlee Clover WG is such a standout, statement bracelet. Since you already have the 5 motif Guilloche, I would probably lean toward the bangle if you think you'd wear it. The onyx/pave 5 motif seems like a cousin to the one you have, so if you are looking to stack, I think the two 5 motifs would also be beautiful. In addition, I have a WG LOVE small, part diamond bangle. I rarely wear it as it's not as feminine as I would like and the Alhambra is really more me. Sorry, I'm not more help, but it looks like you and I have similar taste.

Hi I must say I love the panda bracelet. It just doesn’t suit me (which at this day I don’t understand why…). This is not about the rotating paved clover because I love the snowflake side. Be sure not to be OCD about that though !
Do you have any modshots of your VA WG guilloché so I could project a bit easier ? Could you try both pieces ? Are you comfortable wearing a larger bangle like the Perlée clover ? Are you comfortable with the sizes VCA has (15-17-18 cm I think)?
In fact Love love the POG (Perlée of God) in WG and would for sure advise this one maybe first but that isn’t at all the same type of look that you asked us about :giggle: This one would stack amazingly with the WG guilloché …

Thanks for the advice (also love the nickname Panda for it)! I have not tried them on yet - next step is to make an appt at my local boutique (DFW) to see if I can. With my wrist size the VA naturally falls all the way down so I wonder/worry how they’d stack. The prices for these guys make my WG VA seem inexpensive so I have plenty of time to save up and wait for availability

Thank you! I really do need to take a trip and try them both on, or something close so I can get a feel for size, and how they’d look stacked vs opposite wrists. I wear the Hermes Clic HH bangles sometimes and I think the perlee is similar in size/width based on photos but trying on would help.

Attaching some pics of the VA on me! Last one was trying on the WG vs the onyx at the boutique - went with WG because I didn’t love the YG part.

Thanks! I agree, while I love the WG/onyx and already know I love the vintage Alhambra line, the perlee clovers just jumped out at me and seems super special. I thought about the Cartier love but in the end I’d prefer something less permanent and easier to put on and off.

What would you say is your favorite favorite VCA piece if I may ask?

I have the panda and I tried it on with the 5 motif WG guilloche and it looked fantastic together. Really enhanced both pieces. With the bangle, the guilloche might be lost and will roll over the motif bracelet.

When / if MTO reopens you could then order the MTO WG onyx (without the paved). +30% premium but would be great with your WGG !

Both are great bracelets in terms of looks. You can't go wrong with either choice.

The "panda" bracelet would either stack beautifully with your guilloche bracelet (although keep in mind you'll likely get more scratches on your guilloche if you wear them on the same wrist and stack) or would play nicely with your current bracelet with one on each wrist separately. Keep in mind, though, that the pave motifs might flip a bit and show the back side. This tends to happen less with the vintage size pave vs the sweet size, but it can still happen. This doesn't bother some people but does bother others, so I figured I would mention it.

If you have not yet tried on the Perlee Clover bangle, I would suggest doing that first. It is a very different fit and feel than an Alhambra bracelet because the bangles have a rigid rather than flexible shape. Some people love it, whereas others prefer the way a flexible bracelet feels on. They are gorgeous pieces and seem to look good on pretty much everyone, but you'll want to make sure you like the way it feels to wear.

As far as trying on, you might not necessarily find they have it in stock in your preferred size and color when you go to the boutique, but you can try on another color gold (ie YG or RG) to get an idea of look and feel at least.

Well, as another WG-and-VA loving guy, I think you've got great taste ;)

Alhambra looks great stacked, so the panda five motif is a no-brainer; I also own the WG guilloche and am currently on the list for the panda bracelet to pair with it. Several members here stack WG guilloche with chalcedony, with is a pretty, lower-contrast option (especially useful if you wear a lot of gray/blue/beige/brown vs black).

Re: Perlee Clovers, that is also an iconic piece that I would love to own. Keep in mind that VCA does not offer the same range of sizes as Cartier; on my wrist, the largest perlee size fits but doesn't have enough movement for my taste. One of the things I like about the five motif is how adjustable it is; if you change your mind, gain/lose weight, alter the placement in a stack, etc., you can always change it, unlike the sized bangles.

Yes, I would love the onyx with white gold. I asked the SA why its only standard in yellow gold and her frank reply made me chuckle - because it is.

In my head I was going to get a complementary Alhambra some day, and then I saw the perlee clovers and was like oh no…

I’ve seen it, but wasn’t really a fan of it for me. I like the love bracelet the most of all their lines but I get caught up on the idea of not being able to put it on and off easily.
I would look at the Clash IRL. I own two. To me they eliminate all the negatives of a Love. It’s easy to get on and off; it’s a secure clasp, and it does not scratch easily. It’s a very cool bracelet.
