Thank you all for your helpful opinions. I bought my very first LV today.... drumroll, please.... Batignolles Horizontal !!! I love this bag !!! Popincourt Haut, which I was leaning toward but had never seen, proved to be too small. Neverfull MM was just too shopping tote-y, and the Tulum was just too rounded on the bottom to sit up by itself, although I loved the outer pocket with the turn button closure. I did resist, but just barely, the wallet and chain and a cute little pouch for my iPhone. Next time... Love this purse!!!

My favourite out of the bags that you are considering is the popincourt haut - great bag ! I also really love my BV, just such a comfortable shape. I would go with either of those !
