Hello everyone! I am thinking of getting myself either the Tiffany T Smile Diamon necklace or Cartier Love necklace for my birthday this year. I am quite sure that I will go for rose gold and the size. I plan to wear it every day so I do not want to go for something too big/flashy. But I am not sure which one to get as they will be my first piece from either brand. If you guys can share your opinion re. style/quality etc that'd be great! Thanks x

My sister has the love pendant and I have the medium sized smile actually.

I think the mini T smile is way too tiny. You can’t see the design very well when you take selfies. Proportionally, it looks better as an earring IMO.

In this case, I’d go for the love pendant. The chain is more substantial, and the pendant is more visible.

However, if you are considering the T smile in a size small or medium, I’d go for the smile. I think the proportions of the T smile in that size are perfect. Very flattering on the collarbone.

So I got to try on the Tiffany T smile necklace in store last week. Unfortunately I did not take photos, but it never crossed my mind because it was so underwhelming to me.
I too was looking for a minimalist necklace but that T smile in the XS is really small.
And for some reason, the diamonds did not sparkle very much. I even tried on the size Small and Medium, and still the diamonds did not sparkle. Maybe it was the lighting, but when I tried on diamond-by-the-yard, that diamond glimmered beautifully!

The Cartier love necklace, is pretty. However, I do see a lot of similar replicas and/or fakes.
And I personally do not like it when a chain is wrapped around or looped through a piece, because I don't like metal rubbing against metal.
But that's just me lol, if those things don't bother you, then that's good!

Chains for Tiffany necklaces are very fine and dainty. They will get tangled if you don't store them properly. Cartier chains are a bit bigger, and I would assume, sturdier, but the chain will stand out just a bit more.

Hope that helps and good luck! Happy birthday!

I tried the T smile in both micro and small, the size of the micro looks fine on me (I think it's because I am so petite haha) but I agree it doesn't show up that well in photos. I remember there is no chain length adjustment on the small, which does bother me as it sits too low on my neck.

I still haven't tried the Cartier love, I will do so this weekend. Hopefully, the pendant isn't too big on me.

Thank you so much! I had never thought of the metal rubbing against each other on the Love - thanks for pointing that out! The polished surface of the ring could be scratched... The amount of Cartier replicas out there is troublesome but I guess that's an issue with all the luxury brands and we can't do much about it:sad:

I love the simple design of the T Smile but I see what you mean about it being very fine...

Decisions decisions haha

I honestly don't like the way the chain wraps around the LOVE pendant. The Tiffany is prettier to me.

Both pieces are beautiful. If you can try them on that's always great. For everyday I would go with the Tiffany T necklace. And, it sounds like you prefer that chain over the other   I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I prefer the smile. My friend has the Cartier in WG and I’m not a fan of it. The one diamond is on one side and the double chain will be moving too much. You need to try on both of them and decide.
