Hi all,

I want to get a pair of everyday studs that are different from my diamond rounds. I think im between a pair of 1.75 ctw cushion cut studs or a pair of 2ctw asscher cut. Any opinion or advice is appreciated!

I did a Google search for Asscher vs Cushion cut and found an article comparing the two.

From the article:

CUSHION CUT OR ASSCHER CUT?

Additionally, if you're buying a diamond that's a little off color or has a tint to it, the Cushion Cut will do a better job at hiding tints and inclusions. It's also more sparkly. The Asscher cut is reserved for very clear diamonds with no visible inclusions or colored diamonds where you really want to display the color.

But as always, the final decision comes down to how you resonate with a diamond. In general, if you are someone who likes a quieter, more classical vibe, then the Asscher Cut would be a great choice. But if you are looking for a bit more animation and extroversion, the Cushion Cut is a great stone for you.

Definitely Asscher cut. It’s classier and more unique IMO. You don’t really see this cut all that often. Plus, it’s in higher carat than the Cushion cut you’re looking at.
my engagement ring is a 2 ct Asscher cut and I love looking at how light dances off of it.

GL!

Step cuts definitely look classier on the ear as studs. Just make sure to choose a higher-ish color or one that appears white to the naked eye. Some diamonds don’t look great on paper but are gorgeous in real life.

As for inclusions, you can get away with a lot more seeing that their earrings, but don’t go too low.

I have a 2 ct Asscher cut engagement ring too! Married 12 years and never get tired of looking at it :)
