Now I know these aren't the high end shoes/boots that most of you ehre buy, but, I can't really afford those. I really want a pair of black boots and am having a hard time deciding. If it helps, I am 46 years old, dress mostly casual, designer jeans, nice tops, etc., I do also wear a lot of skirts and dresses, and am 5'1".

Here are my 3 choices:

Steve Madden 1;

Steve Madden 2:

+1 for ninewest. looks more classic and appropriate and far more versatile.
the SMs are kind of just okay and pricey!

I like #1 and #3. You can pair them both with jeans (skinnies and wide legs and wider bootcuts), skirts and dresses.

I'm just curious, why do you hate Steve Madden? I really like most of his shoes and they fit me well.

And thanks for the suggestion of the Vince Camuto, but, I'm not loving the buckle across the foot or the chunky lug like sole
