I have been going back and forth about which bag I want. I have a black pair of Dionysus sandal and I wanted to get a matching bag. I’m looking for something that I can dress up or down.

I think the first one will look better on your dress because It's very simple and elegant, the second one is also good but I would suggest first one
First one. Velvet, no matter how expensive, will not last as long as leather. It starts to fade away and fall out.
I would definitely go with the leather Dionysus! I personally prefer the gold hardware and like the Gucci web vs the print.

Of course velvet is more fragile. I'd say if you stored it correctly and don't let it rub on things abrasively it should last just fine.

Although the leather one is lovely, I’m leaning towards the velvet one. I love the silver hardware on black. 
I’m not a fan of the mismatched gold and silver hardware. The tiger head spur and chain imo should be made of the same color metal.

My preference is for the second and that's the one I'd go for but I can see how it's probably easier to dress down the first.
