Hi everyone! I have a Sony A7RV that I typically use with a 24-70mm lens. It’s about 3.12 lbs all together. So far I’ve been using “camera bags” from camera bag brands such as Peak Design and WANDRD for the functionality, but I really miss being able to use purses/bags that I actually enjoy carrying for the aesthetic and the joy they bring me. However, selecting a practical and functional option is also very important to me, as I have noticed over the years that I end up not using bags that I adore design-wise if I don’t find them practical in the day-to-day.

My considerations are:
  • Has a thick/comfortable strap, or at least a removable strap that I could replace with something more comfortable
  • Is able to fit my camera and hold the weight without being damaged (so nothing ‘fragile’ that has to be babied); I will be using a camera cube or some sort of bag insert to help protect the camera
  • Has some organizational pockets and remaining capacity (after the camera is inside) for daily carry items such as wallet, phone, sunglasses, wipes, lip products, sunscreen, medicine, water bottle, etc
  • No “open” tops (I prefer a zipper or flap with magnetic/turnlock closure)
  • As lightweight as possible, so I am definitely considering nylon/econyl. I love the look of leather, but am looking for light leather options if that’s the case.

Are there any bags you would recommend based on the above? A few that I’ve been considering are as follows (in order of my preference at the moment), but I’d love to hear other ideas, or your thoughts on these options:
  • Saint Laurent Niki (Men’s version, since the Women’s has a chain strap) in Grained Leather (it was scrumptious when I saw it in store) or Econyl
  • Mulberry Alexa (felt like beautiful but light leather when I looked in store)
  • Givenchy Triangle Backpack (it’s really a sling, though) in Nylon - in either Medium or Large
  • Balenciaga City
Thanks for reading!

How about the large Loewe puzzle?

Balenciaga City will be to small for your purpose, at least if you mean the original version. It has not much width, the strap is very short, not usable for crossbody and slips of carry over on shoulder even when not fully filled.

Mulberry Alexa will be too small, too. Also it is a pretty floppy bag. Sounds like you would need a bag with more structure.

The large Loewe looks like a great option, I will have to try and see it in store. Thanks so much for the recommendation!
