Help me build a bag wardrobe please :) the perfect combo?

I’ve been saving up for my first designer handbag for the last year and could not decide what to get. I basically I think I need one small and one larger

The bags would be for everyday, travel, weekends, shopping and meal dates

If you could have any two, one from the categories below, what do you think is the perfect combo??

Small
- Chanel woc in Lambskin, gold vs silver?
- Gucci Marmont, think this is lovely, will it date?
- luv Pochette Métis empreinte in black

Bigger
- sac de jour small, black
- lv speedy 30 DE

I think the Marmont is already dated. LOVE the Métis in black empreinte!

For a large bag - the two choices you mentioned are so different; do you mind an open style bag or do you want something that is more secure? How about weight? A small SDJ might be too small and a large one might weigh too much.
How about a Speedy Bandouliére?

Speedy b 30 de would be perfect for all your purposes other than meal dates and also a nice addition to any wardrobe.
For the small bag I’m leaning towards Chanel woc but it really depends on how much you need to carry.

Too small even for small everyday but a great addition for a 3rd/evening
- Gucci Marmont, think this is lovely, will it date?
Perfect go-to bag, esp if you like ghw, go for the camera bag style
- luv Pochette Métis empreinte in black
See reviews on the LV forum first and try it, check it out, it's cute, the Gucci can be cute but can do ladylike too which is good for occasions you want to dress up. Small is the trickiest bag size to get right.

Bigger
- sac de jour small, black
Very elegant for a bigger bag
- lv speedy 30 DE
Classic and easy
Do want leather and to carry A4 things for work or a canvas, waterproof bag you can stuff and throw around?

For the smaller bag, if you want a Chanel, then I would pick the Chanel square mini or small or medium classic flap in black caviar (or lambskin if you really want) with gold hardware. The Chanel WOC is more of a mini bag and won't fit anything other than your phone, cards, a lipstick, and maybe car keys. Gucci tends to be a little trendy, but I have the Gucci Soho Disco bag in red and I always take it traveling. It's crossbody and fits a lot. My friend has the Louis Vuitton Lockme BB in the older style and it's a great size. Small but fits a ton. I like the older version better than the newer version, but you should check it out.

For a bigger bag, I highly recommend Louis Vuitton Neonoe. I normally use it for work -- it won't fit documents (unless you fold them) or a laptop but will fit a ton of the random things you need to bring. I've also taken it while traveling. The straps are adjustable and its a nice medium/big size. So many people have the Speedy, and I heard it's a black hole haha. Sac De Jour looks a little formal.

I have the sdj in every size..nano to large
The baby looks small but can really fit a ton of stuff, I use my baby sdj to carry a wallet, sunglasses, makeup bag, phone and a regular sized swell bottle. This size is a really easy bag for evenings out, traveling or if you're out running errands
The small sdj is much larger especially if you undo the sides, I use it for work and it’s also my fave gym bag. It can fit all my daily essentials and a swell bottle plus my SoulCycle spin shoes lol
Have you looked at the sdj nano? It’s a smaller size to the baby and definitely an evening only bag with just enough space for your wallet and makeup

gosh your bag is absolutely gorgeous, if you could only have baby or small what would you go for? Are they all in pink? I probably wouldn’t use mine of work due to my job, but for would I guess be handy for city visits and day trips....so therefore trying to decide to get the small and fit iPad and agenda etc or have baby for more everyday? I think nano is too small amd I like the zip inner of the others...thanks so much

Oh I've seen it alright! :eek::whut: :drool:

I love the empreinte leather, I have a Clés in the same leather and it's gorgeous. I dislike monograms and visible branding but on the empreinte it's so muted that it looks nice. Plus the leather is very durable - I don't baby my wallets&SLG and I've carried that little Clés so much, still it has no signs of wear&tear. I'm not the first owner either, so it's seen some action.

The bag...well, the empreinte Métis is the only LV product that I ever want to own. I've seen a couple IRL and oh dear. It can fit a lot and it looks really lovely when worn. :loveeyes:

My combo from the choices would be: Chanel woc in Lambskin - black/beige caviar with gold hardware and the Sac de jour small, black.

I WOULD upgrade the WOC to a rectangle mini or M/L because the WOC is literally a wallet - cards, cash, MAYBE lipstick. I don't think the Pochette Metis is worth the hype if I'm honest and the Gucci Marmot is definitely outdated, or about to be.

For a small bag, have you considered Celine trio? It's super functional! Fits plenty!

I would definitely get the small sdj to start with, definitely a good size for your iPad and essentials and loads of space when you undo the side straps
The pro of having a small sdj is you can carry it using the top handles or use the shoulder strap when your out and busy.. it looks awesome carried both ways
The baby looks best while using the shoulder strap.. it’s a bit too small proportioned to hand carry.
I have a Fog Grey croc embossed small sdj.. Fog is a really neutral color and blends in with most of my wardrobe.. I’ll send you a pic when I’m back home after the weekend
