Help - LV Twice Empreinte or Balenciaga Envelope?

Hello all! I am a new member of PurseForum but I've been a visitor for years!
I need your advice - I've been looking for an elegant, black leather crossbody bag for years.

I am torn between the LV Twice Empreinte and Balenciaga Envelope crossbody. From price perspective, they're pretty much the same so that's not an issue. In terms of the look, I first fell in love with the LV Twice Empreinte and bought it a few days ago. It's been sitting at home because I tried on the Balenciaga Envelope and fell in love with that too. I can't afford to buy both so unfortunately, I need to make a decision.

Should I return my LV Twice and get the Balenciaga Envelope crossbody instead?

I look forward to your advice!

P.S. - I would carry the following in the purse: LV continental wallet or LV zippy coin purse, iPhone 6, hand sanitizer, keys and mint.

i might be able to help out a bit - i returned the twice (canvas one) and previously owned the envelope, so i've dealt with both. my preference was for the envelope based on the removable strap. the envelope can look a bit caved in when carried with the strap -- it does pucker in the middle, and the closure can pop open if you overload it. but as i wore it more and more i liked the envelope used without the strap and used a wristlet strap (off market one) instead, or just carried it as an oversized clutch. it just has more options b/c the twice has a fixed strap. that was why i didn't keep the twice, the fixed strap gave me no options and didn't appear thick enough to support the weight of the contents. the envelope also has a thin strap, but it fits a bit more - surprisingly - because the leather is more flexible and soft, and the main compartment can expand. personally, i didn't like the look of the twice with my items inside - the 3 compartments felt weird to me. i sold the envelope after two years to get a different bal clutch. bals end up losing value and that doesn't happen to lv, so if you buy/sell your bags a lot that might be something to consider. unless you dislike pre-loved, i'd buy the bal pre-loved, because it won't hold it's value at all. maybe that way you could own both - the envelopes are only like 485-550 resale. they will both easily hold the items you mentioned.

SOOOOO helpful! Thank you. I don't normally re-sell but I like your comment about the closure. That was one of the things I didn't really like about the envelope because I preferred something with the zipper. I'll be using the purse more as a crossbody - not really as a clutch. I may consider buying a pre-loved Balenciaga.
