I need to send one of these back this week! I've been wanting a structured black bag and originally ordered the LV Alma...I like it a lot, it's very classic and I know would be a good investment, but I wasn't super excited when I first opened it. Then I saw the gloss textured Givenchy Antigona on NAP and snatched it up so I could choose b/t them. I literally gasped when I opened the Ant! It's gorgeous and the glossy leather is so different than anything I have. However, I can already tell that it will be a somewhat high-maintenance bag and I'll have to carry a cloth to wipe off fingerprints, dust, etc...but I think it's pretty enough to be worth the effort. Do I go with the more classic Alma, or the Antigona that makes my heart sing now but I might tire of more quickly? TIA!IMG_1488927368.616064.jpgIMG_1488927380.999982.jpg IMG_1488927424.139839.jpg

Dilemma Beautiful bags, both of them!
How does the Alma make you feel when carrying it? And same with the Antigona. I think you should go for the bag that makes you f e e l your best! Later on, if you decide to sell the one you decide upon, I think both bags will keep their value about the same.
Good luck deciding! ❤

You love the Antigona, keep it! It's a very pretty bag. I love the alma but I think the epi is very subtle especially because it's a black bag haha. So that's probably why you aren't tp.o. Thrilled when you opened it. Maybe get the alma in a different color down the road

I love and would keep the Alma.

I'm a fan of the Antigone but it's a bag that is on trend. So it will be off trend at some point. Plus I like patent leather but the glossy Antigone looks a little like some of the cheaper faux saffiano that's been everywhere lately.

Antigona has actually been around for many years and its only been the past few yrs that everyone and their sister have been seen in one.

The alma shape doesnt lend itself to fitting as much as the ant, but if thats what you want... Also, the patent finish of the ant makes it almost indestructible and impermeable to scratches, rain, spills, etc. It can truly be a workhorse kind of bag, esp if you dont baby your bags.

Second this. I don't have an Antigona but I have a black crinkle patent nightingale maxi. She's such a workhorse and doesn't have any wear. I've had her for 6 years now.

Antigona because you gasped when you saw her. Sounds like you would just be settling if you choose the Alma.

Because the leather is textured, smudges may not be conspicuous as on smooth leather. So, this Antigona may not be as high maintenance as you think.

Defintely the Antigona! I just bought the smooth shiny leather Antigona and I just use the cloth that came with my sunnies to wipe of fingerprints/etc., super quick and easy! and I feel that the texture of your Antigona will make it even less maintenance :) it's a stunning bag, but you'll have a lovely bag no matter which you choose!

I'm a little late replying but thank you all soooooo much for the responses! I ended up keeping the Antigona, I just couldn't let it go (and figure I can always buy the Alma later). Those of you that pointed out that it wouldn't be high-maintenance were totally right...it's already been caught in a downpour and had a Diet Coke spilled across the front of it, and still looks brand new!
