Hey all,

my friend is looking for a bag and I am trying to help her. She wants a bag she can carry with a strap and also with a handle on her shoulder. It should be approximately as big or bigger than a piece of paper. I would have recommended mulberry alexa satchel, but the handle won't fit on the shoulder...
It must not be a designer handbag. The material should be preferably leather or materials close to that. The colour is not important, but I think she's not into bright colours and wants a versatile one.

I appreciate your help.

I see you are in Europe. Is there a price you need to be at? I would have a look at some of the designers and premier designers on this forum so you can get an idea what's out there.

She didn't mention a price yet because I guess if it is the perfect bag...
She's been looking so long already thats why I try to help her now too.
But lets say anything below usd 800 if that makes sense.

i just bought this bag for my mum for her work, and she loves it. says she can put on her shoulder too...just a thought!

Consider the Dooney and Bourke Dillen Satchel. It has the classic lines of an LV Alma and a nice shoulder strap. It runs about $250.

Edited to add:

Whoops--you said shoulder carry. I think the handle on this ba might be too short. There is the larger pocket satchel that migt be good.

If the budget is $800, I highly recommend a used YSL Downtown. It's my new workhorse bag. I am a huge YSL Easy fan as well.

Tano makes some really awesome convertible bags too. This site ships internationally for $30. I suggest you head to the Tano forum so you can look up info on the brand.
