HELP Ladies...I'm confused!

I'm not a PRADA expert and I need some advice:

I purchased two PRADA bags from NM.com (one of each color--black and bambu) (http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod100220027)

I received the bambu color a few days ago and just received the black one yesterday. But I noticed that the metal Prada logo at the top of the bag is different on each of my bags. The bambu (which is nothing in color to the one shown on NM.com) has the metal logo as shown on the NM site----just "PRADA Milano". Like: logo2.jpg

But, the black one has a metal logo like this:
logo.jpg --- except it's on my black bag.

Why the different metal logos? Perhaps I got last year's model in the black?

Can anyone explain to me why these two logos are different?? They were purchased from the same site (NM.com) and through the same link given above. ??

It's probably because Prada doesn't have it's own factory, so different artisan has different logo. But I don't think it has anything to do with the seasons because I have seen the same soft calf bag with the logo that looks like the one on bambu color just recently and a few months ago. But maybe other tpf'ers have more knowledge?

I was very concerned when I received my deerskin tote and saw a stamped "Prada Milano" instead of the usual metal logo.

I checked Bluefly and found several different logos:

All I can say is: After a year or so, only Prada Psycho & Missfiggy will know which handbags are authentic! :P

I would've been concerned too. Just out of curiousity...did you keep your deerskin tote with the stamped logo? Or have it authenticated?

The handbag itself is gorgeous and had all the other Prada hallmarks.
That said, after I wore the handbag around my home, I decided the handles didn't sit comfortably enough on my shoulder. I was planning to use it for traveling, so it's going back.
Ah well! There are OTHER Prada handbags out there!

Oh, sorry to hear it didn't work out for you. But you're right, there's plenty of other handbags out there that can work for you. Good luck in finding just the right one!

I also ordered the same bags as you texas mom from neiman marcus and returned the black just last week and kept the bambu. I was wondering too about the different logs on these two bags. Did you decide which bag to keep?
