Someone please, please help me. :girlsigh:

I have been looking all over for a navy (or dark jean colored) blue leather shoulder tote. I'd appreciate any assistance because I am actually going out of my mind. I am obsessed! It happens every year around this time. I have looked everywhere for the past few years with no luck. The handbag must be:

-Navy or dark denim colored leather. Would prefer no patent leather...If present, must only be at a minimum.
-Well made. (No explanation needed on this forum. LOL!)
-Zip closure or with a large center compartment that zips
-Easily worn over the shouder, even with a jacket.
-Medium sized (no bigger than 14 inches wide, 12 inches high...Ideal size would be about 13 inches wide and 9 - 12 inches high)
-Style must be classic enough to keep forever, but not boring.
-Must be under $600.00

If you find anything, please post a picture and/or link. Thanks!

Hmmm...a the "classic" part might require more $$$. But since what's "classic" to one person might be trendy for another...well...here are some totes I've seen around.

^ OMG, I almost posted that one! I decided not to because I thought it would be too, IDK, casual to meet the classic look she's looking for. But, then again, it's a matter of opinion. The Faridah is very popular. I'm an MJ and MBMJ fan, but I'm not crazy about that line--the Faridah, Teri, Quinn, Mini Quinn. I was until I saw them in person. To me, they look way better in the photos. But that's just me.

i love that one in navy - i'm actually thinking of getting the faridah hobo in light grey because i'd rather have a lighter color - you like them in person? it's so hard for me to pull the trigger on a bag LOL

i think that could definitely be a "classic" bag - not a great bag if you work in a very conservative environment, but for everything else...

Nope, not in person. I liked them and was about to buy one or two of them until I had a chance to see them in person. For me--for me--this is one of those instances in which IRL did not live up to the photos. Still, loads of people love these bags. If you have a chance to see them IRL, it might help you feel more confident about your decision.

Thanks so much for posting ladies!

karmenzsofia, isn't that crazy that I'd have to spend more money for something more classic? I'm noticing that whenever I see a bag that I love, it's usually a bit more than I want to spend on a handbag. The simpler the design, the pricier. I love the look of the Tod's Soft Restyled D-Bags:

Love this shape:

Love this blue:

The Tod's Besace Media bag (love this shape):

To me, these have a classic shape, but they're not boring. I love these, but these all cost more than I want to spend.

You're not going to believe this. When you said "tote" my first thought was Tod's! They're beautiful, functional, perfectly constructed, long lasting, and classy. But you said $600, and these sell for $1,600 to $2K, so I didn't even bring it up. I'm crazy about Tod's Restyled D-Bag Media tote. I want one in Lily (purplish) or Clay (taupeish). Oh, get one, get one, get one

I would love to have one, but for me, that is too much money to spend on a bag right now. I don't want my boss thinking that I don't need a raise.

Belen Echandia has a dark blue leather called Petrol, as well as a Navy sheen (very dark blue), and a Cobalt (a brighter blue) as well as several medium-sized styles like the Take Me Everywhere Midi and the Make Me Smile Midi. Price is a little over your budget (between $700-800 if I have my conversions right) but you may want to take a look. I think the perfect bag may be worth an extra $100, particularly if you've been searching a few years for it:smile:
