I was thinking the same thing, it looks like the leather is pushed up in the opposite direction--some leather conditioner, might flatten that back down. It might be worth it to call an MJ boutique--I know there is one in New York and talk to them. They may even be able to recondition it for you. With this great price you could afford to send it to them. Possibly you could email the picture of the scratch. Worth a try!
