Hey ladies, My DH just surprised me last night with and early V-day gift. It's basically a wedding band with 19 diamonds all around adding up to 3 carats he said. It fits perfectly on the middle finger of my right hand. I'm afraid it is too large to wear as a second ring with my E-ring even if I get it sized. I feel like they look better apart. I am also considering making it into a single ring with my E-ring stone replacing one of the 19 smaller diamonds and just having a ring of all diamonds. What is the etiquette for a second wedding band? If it replaces my old wedding band, what should I do with the original? Can I just wear it on my right hand? TIA..

Congrats on your gorgeous ring, how amazing of your dh!!! I like it in the middle finger close to your wedding set!

Truly beautiful!

I also would keep it on your right hand middle finger.....really looks pretty. Sizing a ring like that will upset the integrity of the set diamonds, ie, would be a pain and could cause future loss of diamonds.

What a wonderful V-Day gift! Congrats.

Bagaday, Twingles, Pandoraholic, lily25, skyqueen! Thanks ladies for the compliments and your opinions. I'll keep it as a separate middle finger ring! :)

I actually think that all 3 rings would look fantastic together!!! you could wear the new band first, then your channel-set band, then your e-ring. it would also look great if you added your e-ring diamond to it as you suggested, but that's a lot of expense to customize a ring when you can find that exact setting ready-made. perhaps you could trade that ring in on a semi-mount that fits & looks the same, then have your diamond put in the new setting.

I don't think there's any set etiquette for new wedding bands. you can always save your original band for a daughter if you decide to wear the new band alone. I would definitely exchange the ring for your proper size rather than having the current band sized.

you can always wear the new band on your right hand, but for me personally, that would be my last choice. you can also stack a diamond band with a gemstone ring & wear it on your right hand.

Kayti that is a gorgeous ring! You are a lucky lady. I love it as a RHR on you. I wouldn't mess with it. I agree with the other ladies that say to wear it as a RHR. I like the idea of stacking all 3 together but I'm not sure how they would all look together. I think it might be too busy. Maybe you can post a pic of all 3 on the same finger? In any event I say absolutely wear it on your right middle finger. It looks beautiful on you and I love your nail polish. Is it one of the Chanel pinks? I also wish I had long slim hands like yours!
