Help! How do I wear this?

I got this super unique and cute necklace from Free People a few weeks ago. Because of its odd shape and the way it sits on the neckline, I'm not sure whether I can wear it by itself or not? And if it'd look better with another necklace, I'm not sure what would look cute.

Here's the detail - there are blue crystals, and
the white is simple string wrapped around the crystals:

i'm confused. is it supposed to not fall in a circular motion on your neckline? if so, that is a very unique necklace. try wearing it alone as i imagine another necklace with it (that lays normally) wouldn't look right with it.
