HELP! HELP! HELP! My cat pee'd on my leather Calvin Klien!

  1.  I just went into my closet to pick up something and found that my cat pee'd all over my bag! How do I get the stain and smell:sick: out?
  2. My cat did this once to a briefcase...I rinsed it under the sink with water and soap (use leather soap if you have it), then sprayed the heck out of it with Febreze (sp?). Let it dry thoroughly (this will take a while), repeat if necessary, and then moisturize the leather.
  3. ouch. i never had that happen before but i feel your pain. good luck and let us know what happens.
  4. Thanks  The bag is a suede type leather. Will this^^^process work on that type too?
  5. It's suede? Oh dearie dear. Get thee to a dry cleaner who specializes in leather bags -- this one is for the professionals!
  6. No help, but I hope it all works out!
  7. Its leather but with a soft suede-like feel to it.
  8. Drop it off to a drycleaner that deals with leather and sorts...
  9. It happened to me once long time a go. My cat poo'ed (sp)on my designer leather bag!. I washed the bag with soap and water but I ended up put up that bag on the closet and never wear it again! I was very inexperience then and what happened then after the wash the color and texture of leather changed. Sorry I couldn't help you much here. Maybe you can take the bag to the good cleaner especially for leather good.
  10. Oh my. Well, I don't know what to tell you. Cat's pee is very strong. That is a smell that will never go away. I hope it wasn't that expensive.
  11. Oh no!:amazed: It wasn't super expensive but it is one of my fave bags! I've been drying it for the past couple hours and the smell is still in there. The color is chocolate brown but the pee stain makes it darker. I'm going to find a leather specialist tomorrow and hope that they can get the stain and smell out.

I'm open to any other suggestions though.
  12. I haven't had a cat pee on any of my bags, but I have had a ton of clothing ruined by a moody cat. That smell just never seems to go away and nothing I did could save what the damn cat peed on. I wish you luck and if you find something that does work at getting out the smell, do share!!!
  13. Ouch.

Febreeze doesn't work? I think the smell will go away in a few days, be patient!
  14. There is stuff called Nature's Miracle that they sell at pet stores. It is an enzyme that takes the stain and smell out. I don't have any idea how it works on sued or leather though.
  15. Petzyme (available at Petsmart) is what we use, we have 1 dog and 3 cats. Always test a small area for colorfastness.
However, cats love to return and pee on whatever you have again. I wouldn't put this purse anywhere your cat could get to it, even if you get the smell out, their sense of smell is much better so he/she may still be able to smell it.
