I really need some help from all of you experienced sellers. I’m not new to eBay but am new to selling. I listed a handbag for sale as a BIN with offers accepted. Someone made an offer, I counteroffered and he accepted. This was on Fri. and he messaged on Sunday saying he was going to pay today but needed to put more money into account because I countered.($25 extra dollars on a $425.00 item)
I came here and started reading about what to do for non-paying. bidders.
I read about toolhause to check on buyers and OMG this guy is a nightmare with feedback left for others!!! Can I cancel the sale without him having the opportunity to leave me feedback?
Thank you so much!

Just want to add a screenshot of the feedback so you can see what I’m dealing with.E547492C-824E-4EC3-B9BF-B11BC7DA7E99.png

I don't know what to tell you. I do BIN/BO in order to look at a potential buyer's feedback left. You know for next time to look first prior to accepting the offer.
This is their total of feedback left (not just negs/neuts)
https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayIS...eftForOthers&ftabfocus=true&searchInterval=30

I don't know what feedback they will leave you. You could contact them and suggest to cancel but they can leave a neg still, I believe. You could just back out and that would be a definite neg along with the NPS. You could continue with the transaction and hope for the best. If you do, just make sure you do everything in your power to make sure things go well.

There are others on here that will have far better advice. I just wanted you to see that they do not always leave less than positive feedback. If a few of them are accurate then they may have been called for.
I am one who is extremely wary of folks who leave such feedback, just so you know. And, if I had received an offer, I may have declined and blocked. But, it is too late for that for you.

Thank you so much for your response.
He just paid so I think I have to ship and hope for the best.
Of course some of the feedback may have been warranted, the amount of negs and the intensity of the feedback scare me.
It’s been a few years since I was on EBay so my feedback started again at 0%. I’m now up to 100% with 3 feedbacks. I am just hoping this person will be fair and reasonable in his feedback. Anything less than positive will put me in a terrible percentage !
After he didn’t pay for a couple days I took off the BO options on my BIN. I just didn’t want to deal with people not paying and having to relist. I can see as you mentioned that the positive side of offers is you can screen your buyers a bit.
Thank you again for your advice!

It is hard on EBay to know what to do. How expensive is the item? Make sure you follow all of the seller requirements. Hopefully, the sale will go smoothly.

I hope that others will chime in.

I don't have much to offer because @carlpsmom gave you a lot of good advice.

Personally, I love b.o. listings because (in my experience), PITA buyers don't usually BIN items. They tend to make offers giving me the opportunity to check them out. And I've dodged bullets (conservatively) at least 50 times by checking feedback left for others before accepting or countering an offer.

The fact is that having accepted an offer or countering and having the buyer accept means that unless you want a definite neg as well as a policy violation, you are obligated to ship. (If it's any consolation, I've had a couple of buyers that I worried about after having accepted an offer and didn't have issues.)

Pack it carefully and ship promptly. (Those seem to be important to your buyer.) And certainly don't cancel because other sellers have been negged for that.

The best you can do is ship, hope the post office does its job and gets it there in a timely fashion and hope for the best.

But because you were nice enough to post here, I have a new addition to my BBL list (iratchett) and I suspect a lot of other sellers here will block too.

ETA: For the price of your item, you don't need signature confirmation and it's not a recommended expense. This is the type of buyer who may be pissed off that she's inconvenienced in having to be home to sign for the package. And since the total payment is < $750, s.c. isn't necessary.

Thank you BeenBurned- you are the eBay expert! It is a little scary out there and it took me a long time to even get started on eBay.
I’m pretty fastidious about packaging but I spent extra time on this one. He paid last night and I brought it to the PO right after they opened this morning. I took your advice about the no signature confirmation . It can be a PITA to the person receiving and I don’t want to draw his ire.
I may reinstate the BO especially if sales slow. I’m pricing things by looking at what they actually sell for to keep things moving along. How do you block buyers?
I’ve spent time on the website but I’m not finding it.
Thanks again for the assistance! :0)
