Help for first Lady Dior?!?!

I would like to purchase the My Lady Dior (ABC) bag. It will be my very first Dior bag. I have a few questions and hope I can get some help here ))

1) is the bag comfortable/heavy? For reference, I just purchased the Celine nano belt bag and find it to be too heavy. I think it is b/c the strap is too thin and digs into my shoulder along with the suede lining. However, I own a m/l lambskin Chanel flap and find it to be lightweight and comfortable.

2) help with color! I can’t decide between black or fard. I love the fard but I will appreciate the black for the long haul.

3) does anyone use this bag for everyday errands or just for special occasions?

1) The bag is not heavy, and probably very comparable to the m/l lambskin Chanel flap. The wider strap will make it even more comfortable.

2) What colour are your shoes usually? Go with the colour that matches more of your shoes.

3) I don't own the bag, but I can imagine it being used for both. I have used delicate bags even when running errands, although it takes a bit more care when I'm in a grocery store (to avoid scratching the bag). And I don't prefer to take these types of bags to the grocery store, but sometimes it's along the way.

1) It's very comfortable, not heavy, but does have a bit of weight to it. The thick shoulder strap makes it really easy to wear, which was a huge selling point for me. (I was debating between a My Lady Dior and a Chanel mini coco handle)

2) In lambskin, I love both colors, so you can't go wrong with either choice. For myself, I went with black lambskin since I wear a lot of dark colors and I plan to mostly use it as a crossbody.

3. I've only worn it dressed down shopping/running errands so far since there's no where to go lol. But as soon as there's a special occasion to go to, I'll definitely be wearing it.

I agree that I would be using it for errands for now (in rotation with my other bags) because of Covid and then hopefully to special occasions someday!

I saw that video too! It is actually what made me interested in the color lol!!!! My boyfriend doesn’t like it (not that I would base my decision off of him). He likes the blue (I think it is called denim blue on the Dior site). I can’t see myself carrying a bag that color although it looks beautiful

Congrats on getting your first Lady Dior soon! I hear you on having trouble deciding between black and fard...I’d recommend looking at your wardrobe/bag collection and see how many black bags you have. I dress in black and neutrals and already had a few black bags in LV, Chanel, Marc Jacobs so I decided to get the fard for my first Lady Dior. The fard is a stunning neutral and I think makes the iconic cannage pop more.

The bag is not heavy, I have the medium size, and I like to use it for everyday occasions. I really do consider it a must have bag for anyone that loves Dior. You can’t go wrong! Please let us know what you end up getting

I have the medium and don't find it heavy at all so I would the My Lady would be even more comfortable to wear. If you already have a nice black bag, I'd go for fard. If not then black. I use the Lady Dior for every day and special occasions. It's so easy to dress up and down (although I know some would disagree...it's a personal preference).

1. Not at all heavy! It is a feather compared to my Chanel jumbo haha. The strap is very comfortable to wear.

2. I just purchased the ABC lady dior in cherry red. Also my first Dior bag I was torn between cherry red and fard color but I am not every careful with bags and looking at my wardrobe, I thought the cherry red will go perfectly with it. I was concerned about the color transfer on the Fard color and how it will wear over time. Even I saw that youtuber's video. She does mention that she babies her bags and wears this bag only with light colors. All I have are dark colored jeans, leggings, and skirts. I have no regrets with the cherry red. It is a beautiful red with blue undertones which I was searching. Fard is a beautiful color though. I would just suggest you to be careful about the color transfer. Check the Lady Dior Clubhouse thread. Some ladies have also said they use the Fard color bag mostly in summers.

3. Just bought about 4 days ago so I cannot say much. But honestly, I dont see it as an everyday bag because it is very elegant but it is your personal preference I may wear it more during spring and summer when I dont have to carry much maybe to malls, parties, weddings (if we can go..). I would say that it is not delicate as everyone thinks due to the lambskin. I have already knocked it against the door frame (accidently) and also scratched it with my nails while putting it back in the bag. I was scared that I already scratched it but was pleasantly surprise that it was untouched. There was one small scratch on the handle but I rubbed it off with my fingertip.

Personally I love the utlramatte hardware, feels very special to Dior (I know it's not, lol)

Anyone have advice on how the hardware wears? Does the ultramatte scratch easier than the gold/metals?

And does anyone have any feedback on the opening/cover flap? If you are in and out of your bag frequently, it feels like it will crease/deform. I do intend to use this bag regularly but I swap bags almost everyday. Use would be in line with bottega mini jodie & mini pouch, LV fanny pack, Chanel Md flap.

I think the Fard is so beautiful, but I have similar concerns that you have. I also want to invest in something timeless, and the black is a timeless piece that goes with everything with little worry of color transfer.

The only time I’ve seen the Lady Dior in real life was a red - and it was STUNNING!!!!

My Chanel classic flap is lambskin so I’m used to the lambskin leather and absolutely love it!!!!

I think I will make my decision tomorrow. I am leaning toward either black or the denim blue (my boyfriend likes the blue).

Let me know if you decide on the denim blue! I am considering it as well, in the ABCDior with the gold hardware. I can’t decide between that, the black, or fard. I think the blue would look great with jeans!!!

agree! I love the color options- I don't think you could regret any! I have other black bags I use frequently, so the denim blue (and fard!) feel fresh and very dior. Good luck with your decision!!
