I found a really cute Lucky Brand purse at TJ Maxx but I dont like the color. Could I dye it? Its currently dark green. (I was thinking maybe black since I dont have a black bag)

Its a hobo and the only hardware is where the straps hook on....it does have a scalloped trim and some ties, but all the stitching is dyed the same color as the bag so I dont think that would be an issue

Any advice on what to use and how to do it?
thanks

You could dye it with a Tarrago dye kit, or something similar. I think, because the color is dark to begin with, that black would be a great choice. If you do a search for tarrago, you'll find a bunch of great threads, with before, during and after pictures.

Try taking it to a cobbler and ask them or a leather dealer. It may only cost $200 or so but why waste a lot of money if it doesn't work? Get a professional to do it. Going from green to black shouldn't be a problem.
