Hi everyone!!! I love your guys' opinions so much that I want to run these options by you all to see if you can help me get out of this overwhelming decision. First-world problems, I guess. LOL
So, I want to gift myself a bag since I am accomplishing a huge milestone of finishing grad school. I love micro bags since I don't carry a lot. On the weekends, I usually go out with a flat card case, an old iPhone 11, and keys. That's it.
Options are:
Micro D'Joy in cloud blue, which I read some reviews from people saying that you can fit all the essentials I listed above. Size: 6 x 3.5 x 2 inches US$ 3100
Small D'Joy in peony pink. Size: 9 x 4.5 x 2.5 US$4300
Small Caro is graystone. Size: 8 x 5 x 3 US$4300
Why am I debating? I love the Caro and that color is amazing but Dior has a bad reputation for switching logos often. I am afraid that this logo will be dated in a few years.
I already have a dark grey medium lady dior but I am considering the D'Joy because I think that the "Lady Dior" style is a classic and I enjoy the new spin on it represented by the D'Joy. It's fun and classic at the same time.
I just want to chat and see what you all think

Congratulations on finishing grad school! You definitely deserve to treat yourself. Ever since @TraceySH's experience with the caro, I've stayed admiring it from a distance only. However, I do like that it has a chain strap over the leather strap of the D-Joy.

That would leave the micro and small D Joy as options that I would consider. I do agree that they are a fun take on a classic and the colours you narrowed it down to are great. Yes, the micro seem like it will fit everything, but have you seen it in person? Do you know how the strap will lay against you when worn crossbody or on the shoulder? IMO, I'd go for the micro if it works for you and I'd put the cost savings into something else, maybe jewelry or travel. Well, nevermind about what I would do, you have to do what you feel is right for you. GL with your decision. In the end, you'll end up with your graduate degree and a beautiful Dior bag!

Thank you so much for sharing!! I will read the attachment you shared. Yes, I was thinking the same exact thing: get the micro D'Joy and get a piece of jewelry, which I have been addicted to forever. LOL Maybe a VCA single motif bracelet since I have several 5 motifs or maybe a Hermes chaine d'ancre ring in rose gold. Thank you for taking the time to engage with me. I appreciate you!!!

The micro d-joy will fit what you have but any bigger phones with a case will not go in easily, just in case you think to upgrade phones.
Also, the chain shoulder strap for the micro is significantly shorter than the bigger sizes and is very awkward as a shoulder bag.
It really looks best being carried. Depending on how tall you are, it is best to try it on in-store before deciding.
The leather on the dior caro is soft calfskin so it will slouch more with use and will not be as structured as the d-joy, so if you like more structured bags, maybe that's something to consider? the difference between lambskin and calfskin is quite important on how often you'll use it. Congrats on a big milestone! both bags are gorgeous nonetheless and dior color palette is divine!

Congratulations on finishing grad school!

I recommend the small D'Joy. I really like the Caro, and the logo actually has a history. It is from their Parfums Christian Dior line and was used for years before Maria Grazia applied it to their fashion line as well. Not sure why it took so long, as it is a very nice and clever blending of the CD letters without making them look like actual letters (kind of resembles whatever inspired Hermes' Chaîne d'Ancre design). As @Mushroomcloset mentioned, the Caro is less structured and the leather at the sides near where the flap folds over tends to crease, even on brand new ones at the boutique sometimes. I wish they reinforced that area a bit more with (perhaps) a structured internal element between the leather and lining.

Congratulations on finishing grad school - what a wonderful way to mark such an incredible achievement! Your new D-Joy is beautiful! I have a Caro in the same shade of grey, and I love it. Enjoy it with much health, happiness, and success!

Thank you all!!!!!! I decided to go with the D'Joy in gray. Picture attached. The micro was just so so tiny. Attaching a picture of the white just for fun.

Congratulations! And great choice! I love the small d joy and debating between the black and gray but this gray is soooo lovely. Do you think the color is versatile enough to wear with different outfits? It does have the blue tint to it. Would love to hear your opinion

Congrats on Grad School and enjoy your new bag! What an achievement. I bought the white one when it was released in this size earlier in the year. I love it but definitely would've gotten the grey if it was available then.
