Help! Dilemma :) YSL or Celine nano bag?

Hello lovely bag lovers!

I am on the market for a new everyday mini bag (as I tend to carry less these days) and I have my eye on Celine Nano and YSL Sac de jour - also in the nano size.

They both have a similar shape, but I can't make up my mind which one to get, as I don't own a bag from either one of those 2 brands.

I will be using the bag as an everyday bag and I am wondering how they age?

You do realize that both of the links to the bags you're interested in are from websites selling counterfeits, right? I'm not making a judgment about this, but just warning you in case it is a point of concern for you.

I don't own either but have researched both a lot because I love them both. Both seem to have a propensity to soften a bit with time from what I can tell. My overall impression is that an authentic celine might hold its shape a bit better than the SdJ, but maybe someone who owns one could better advise. This is just what it looks like from pictures I have seen of celebs carrying these and of preloved bags I've seen for sale.

The SdJ might be more of a "classic" into the future, but I prefer between the two a Celine because I really like the "kool aid face". But that's just me.

Thanks for your help and the thoughtful comment on the counterfeit websites. I have googled the images in order to have them as a ref, didn't research we www-s.:) . I am planing a trip to Italy soon and thinking to get the bag directly from the boutique.
To be honest, the Celine got really expensive during the last couple of years, which is its only disadvantage.
SDJ seems a bit more feminine to me - its downside is that it doesn't have a zipper, which can be tricky.

Yeah, I can't swallow that price on the Celine. Agree that the SdJ seems a bit more feminine. The Celine seems more "fun". I'm afraid the SdJ would be boring after awhile, while the Celine would always make you smile.

How fun to go buy it from the boutique! I am headed to a Celine boutique next week and can't wait to see some of these gorgeous things in person. Pray for me that I will keep my credit card firmly planted in my wallet!!!

I would love to hear your thoughts on the celine babies once you check them out in person! I still have 2 more weeks to decide! :)))

Okay, I am back from my bag scoping pilgrimage.

The Celine leather is indeed so softy and lovely. The bags look more delicate in person and due to the suppleness of the leather I do think it would be more likely to lose its shape over time.

I also went into a YSL boutique and looked at/touched the SdJ. It's much more structured and looks really rich and classy in person.

So I've changed my position and would opt for the SdJ, depending where you live and what your style is of course. The SdJ defo seems more luxe and formal.

There's my thoughts. Hope they help! :smile1:
