I just purchased my first LV item - a key pouch and I’m so excited that I thought about selling my 2 Coach backpacks (Parker 18 large size and the classic turnlock for those of you Coach fans). I really love these backpacks but I’m wanting to start turning the corner to building a luxury collection. I’m pregnant with baby #3 and she’s a girl! So maybe I will pass down some items to her :) I’m eyeing the vintage Montsouris MM but would have to sell my Coach backpacks to afford it. The bag is in good condition with just dark water marks on the leather but canvas, interior and hardware are good. What would you do? I might post this in Coach forum too lol! Thanks in advance! :)

I used to have some of the Dark Disney collection pieces from coach. The Snow White large tote bag being my favourite piece. But I sold it once I got more into LV and now have a decent collection. The quality of Coach for the price is great, but for me I’m just focused on my LV collection now and can’t even consider another brand :giggle: they’ve got me good:facepalm:
I personally also love the vintage LV pieces and think the darkened vachetta adds more character.
If you feel the sacrifice of the coach bags is worth it then go for it!

Keep your Coach bags, if you love them. I own mostly luxury bags, with LV dominating my collection, but I still buy and keep Coach. Coach makes some good quality leather pieces, and depending on the item itself, its leather quality can rival luxury. For everyday items that will be used literally everyday, I think LV is great. Otherwise, buy and keep what you love. Sell/give away when you have truly moved on.

And I agree, don’t be concerned about passing down bags. Gave my LV Eva to my sis for her 16th bday… she doesn’t know where it is. Same with the By the Pool Neonoe BB she asked from me lol You know what she loves and appreciates? Her Coach bags. If we have the same Coach pieces and we haven’t seen each other in a while, she’ll ask if we can match.

Your daughter won’t care what kind of bags you have, no kid does. Kids just want to be like their parents and other people they look up to. They’ll most likely want to dress like you too (before their rebellious years lol). Your daughter will appreciate moments and memories like that more than what bags will be ultimately passed. My sister and I have a pretty large age gap, and I know that’s what it was like for her.

I started my handbag collection with Coach and eventually moved on to LV, Gucci, Burberry, etc. I sold off many Coach bags, mostly from the outlet. However, I kept a few very nice leather boutique bags and a nylon tote that wears like iron. Now all of a sudden, I'm loving Coach again for the quality and the price point and although I will always love my LV bags, I don't see myself purchasing new due to the price point. I may add some vintage pieces, which I once said I would never buy. I guess the long story short is, your tastes change but there are always a few bags in your collection that are keepers. If you love those two bags, hang onto them as you will regret getting rid of them. If you want to venture into LV, take your time and get what you love, without considering resale value or passing it on.

Yes I really do love the Coach Napa leather bags that I have. They feel so soft and smooth. Thank you for sharing about your sister. That’s so funny and also could drive ya crazy at the same time It’s true that even with good intentions, my daughter might not be interested in the heirlooms. Probably the Tiffany’s though lol! I sold some of my Coach bags to get some YSL items and they were hard to part with but if it’s for something exciting then it’s worth it. I’d love Speedy 25 in damier ebene someday so that might be worth saving for..
