They are very different bags and both are great.
Personally, though I am an LV fan, I prefer the Bal.
It is not as strict looking as the Alma, the leather is great and the design is a classic.
Let's wait what the others have to say...;)

Love both! Difficult decision. My personal decision would turn on whether I plan to use the bag as an elegant handheld bag for day or evening. If yes then I'd go for Alma bb because of the classic shape/structure. If only daily casual wear then mini City (with mGGH!)

ITA with this. Depends if you plan to use in the evening or day mostly, and what your personal style is. They are both great bags!

I'd get the LV Alma in epi leather between the two.

Epi leather seems to be tough and doesn't show wear as easily as certain Bals do.

Personally I'd go with the Alma BB :) Have one and absolutely adore it!

I have a Bal and some LVs and while I do like my Bal, I think the leather has not been wearing as well as I had hoped. I think the quality of Balenciaga is not that great.

I love the Alma BB even though I no longer am into LV. But if I were to buy another LV, I would buy an Alma BB...it is just so darn cute and versatile. It holds enough of the essentials, can be worn crossbody AND hand-held, and for formal AND casual occasions. :)

As others here have mentioned, Alma BB for a more formal look, and Bal mini-city for a more casual look. At some level, both can be dressed up or down - so it would depend on which suits your personal style more, and if it would be more suited for what you would be using it for more often (if you will use it more often for formal events/activities - Alma BB; use it more often for casual events/activities - Bal mini-city). :D
